Things I like in a story.
I've realised there are a few new people lately and I just wanted to point out some things that make a story interesting to help them out. 1. Don't be afraid to go into detail about a point in the story. If you just mention; Michael and I got married that day; It would be better to go into more detail about the wedding and vows etc. **Also go into detail about the characters and their personality. 2. Don't include too much sex. Some is okay (ie 2 or 3) but if the entire story is about sex then it gets boring after a while. 3. End every part with something that will keep the reader guessing or hungry for the next part; ie Then he did something totally unexpected.... 4. Be creative! Try a different style of writing! Try a totally unique plot; read lots of stories and take notes to what you liked about it. Be careful not to copy their ideas though. 5. I personally like having a web address included that shows what the characters look like or what clothes the characters are wearing, or where the setting takes place. **Some people may not like them but I personally do. and 6. I suggest doing some research! Maybe by using real life people as characters and look up what their personality is really like. If the main character is a girl who was born in Encino, then maybe look up what hospitals are in Encino and say the girl was born there, it's more believable that way. Hope this helped all of the new writers or even the old ones! Tash xoxo BTW this is just my opinion!
