Shadow Michael

Out of the shadows he comes
his hair and clothing blending in
the ebony is contrasted however
by the one bare hand that is in view

a creature of the dark
would be the first thing that comes to mind
but no, this creature is not one of the dark
at least not by choice

the shadows have offered shelter however
from the cruel world that does not understand
they have accepted him
and though he would rather be in the light, he to has accepted

the clothing is the next thing to catch one's eye
he seems to be clothed in something other than cloth
cloth could never move that way, as graceful as the wearer
almost like liquid that molds to his every move

and then you realize,
he is srouded in darkness
the same darkness he wishes to leave but
the darkness accepts him and he stays

his hair is dark
it is tied back loosely
you decide it is probably shoulder length when down
the few stray hairs that frame his still hidden face are loose curls

a creature of the dark he is not
but he is not fully a creature of the light either
he stays because he is wanted
he is michael and the shadows keep him
