Michael Jackson: Not All That Bad

A boy was born in a town called Gary,
His childhood absent and rather extraordinary.
With intensity, courage, strength, and drive,
He became lead singer of the Jackson Five.

He sang, danced, and traveled the world,
While dazzling many, mostly the girls.
Deciding it was time to go out on his own,
With many things planned, no one had known.

He made solo albums that didn't fall,
One of them titled "Off the Wall"
The biggest selling album of all time was a killer,
It joins a short film that Michael called "Thriller"

Worked many hours reaching for the top,
As fans soon labeled him "The King of Pop"
Making time for commercials and TV reviews,
He also performed at the Superbowl too.

He's done so much since the age of five,
For his idol James Brown kept him energized.
Something was happening before our very eyes,
By normal appearance changes and few modified.

His skin began lightening from head to toe,
A rare skin disorder called Vitiligo.
Some thought it's skin bleaching, and considered strange,
While others were questioning, why a man at this range?

He changed even more, creating perplexity,
By having nose jobs and plastic surgery.
This should be no surprise for those in Hollywood,
So how can we criticize a man not understood?

Many call him eccentric, unusual, and strange,
But nobody's perfect, so why should he change?
His fans still love him, and that is no doubt,
And many still aren't sure what he's all about.

Those that judge him always stop to see,
Especially when appearing on worldwide TV
Why do they do this, we'll never know why,
To grab a story of the worlds most famous guy.

A perfect example at the time in Germany,
Where he showed Prince Junior, over the balcony.
A somewhat new parent placed his baby in danger,
Some not concerned yet most displayed anger.

The story covered papers and nationwide TV,
Shocking many, as it aired for us to see.
An impulsive act that was soon recognized,
With a written statement he apologized.

A number of us made mistakes before,
But with Michael Jackson, NOTHING is ignored.
One thing is for sure, that can't be denied,
That whatever he does, the media won't hide.

The recent event could've put him through the ringer,
Although, one thing is certain, and nearly guaranteed,
HE'LL NEVER BE SEEN ON JERRY SPRINGER!!!
