Why Doesn't Everybody Love MJ? by: Raven
What I'm writing at this very moment isn't supposed to be a tribute or anything, but just a simple question. Why doesn't EVERYONE have some kind of love for Michael Jackson? I mean in any form or fashion? It could be because of the reasons I love him; which are way too many to write, or the following: the charity he gave, his genius of music, his dance, his looks ;), or even his interesting life. All I know is is that all of the qualities that I listed above are what drew me in to becoming a fan in the first place. Michael died one week after I graduated from 8th grade (I'm 15). I remember the day like it was yesterday... *flashback* I remember I was cleaning the entire house that day because I was on punishment for something, but when I was almost finished the phone rang. It was my best friend. (awe man, this is becoming a story well, keep reading anyway! F.Y.I- It's 1000% real.) Me: Hello BFF: OMG guess what! Me: What?! BFF: Michael Jackson died... As soon as she told me this I sat on the couch and asked her... Me: *disbelief* oh man, how did he die? BFF: It's all over the news, they're saying he died of cardiac arrest or something... I turned on the TV immediately and sure enough, Michael's death as well as Farrah Fawcett's were both on every news channel (of course Michael's overshadowed her's) When I got off the phone I called my mom. She was at work and she said she already knew. I swear I couldn't believe how shocked I was at the time about his death because I felt neutral about him. That's right! I didn't love him or hate him. I just knew he was the most controversial famous human being on the planet. Hell, at the time I didn't even know Thriller was the biggest selling album of all time! I'm not kidding and I find it really embarrassing to tell people how much I knew about the King of Pop before he died... Just like they say now, "It took Michael Jackson's death for people to embrace him again." I was mad at myself because of this. I didn't even take notice of Michael until his unfortunate, untimely death. It seemed like almost every day a new development of Michael's death came on TV. Along with his music video's and what not playing everywhere! I didn't have anything to do that summer, so most of the time I researched his music; then his life; then his sexiness (lol). I couldn't believe it! I was a full fledged fanatic. Anytime his name was mention any time I HAD to be apart of the conversation! Anytime anyone bashed him I had a fit! And When This is It came out, I made sure I had a ticket! So, to anyone out there who hates the King of Pop, BEAT IT! and if your saying he's a Chester Chester child molester, do a little research and you'll look so stupid! But still, I 'm the only person I know personally that LOVES Michael Jackson....
