Scream - Part Eleven
Sorry it's been a while. New story coming soon. Hope this sin't too short. Enjoy! "How is he? Is Michael OK?" I pleaded. But everyone was ignoring me. Nurses ran into othr rooms, flying past me. No-one would listen. I was frantically running for someone to help me. Then I came to Michael's room. As I stepped in, a nurse blocked my entry. "I'm sorry. The patient in this room is dead. The patient in this room is dead. The patient in this room is dead," repeated the nurse, starting to sound like an answering machine message, unreal. "Dead...Dead...Dead...Dead...Dead..." I heard the words echoing and echoing around me. I opened my eyes slowly, turning into rapid blinking. "...Dead. So is she? Is she going to be OK?" "She's fine at the moment. She's nowhere near critical. Though a few inches further and she would be dead. Unfortunately she'll never walk again," answered the doctor. The visitor started to cry. I could hear it but couldn't see it. I wanted it to be Michael. I really did. I looked up. Katherine sat there holding my hand with LaToya sitting next to her. I had grew very close to Michael's family. "Is Michael OK?" I asked desperately, repeating the words in my dream. I wanted it not to be true. "Michael's fine, Sasha!" said LaToya. "Everything's OK." "There we go, you're awake!" said the doctor brightly. He handed me a cup of water. "Thank you," I wheezed and drunk it in one gulp. I discovered I had a sore throat. Jermaine walked in holding a coffee. "He's fine! Whenever Sasha wakes up he said he'll... Oh, you're awake. How are you doing?" he asked. "Fine," I croaked. "It's nice of you to all come visit." I tried to smile, but it hurt. All of my body ached. "Mike's just fine! He's been awake for hours, in fact, asking about you and he's so well he's been able to have dinner... and he made me go to the vending machine for a chocolate bar! He's right as rain!" said Jermaine over-enthusiastically. "And I'm... Not?" There was a moment of silence, when LaToya's mobile rang. "You're not allowed those in here!" exclaimed Katherine. "Chill, Mom," LaToya giggled and answered her phone. She walked out into the corridor. A few minutes later she walked back in. "Was it Joe? He said he'd call soon," asked Katherine. "Yeah." There was a silent moment and I asked, "Could I go visit Michael?" "I'm not sure you're well enough, sweetie," said Katherine. "He said when you wake up, he'd visit you," said Jermaine. "OK," I said weakly. "I'll tell him you're awake," said LaToya, and walked out slowly. She came back in, pushing a wheelchair. "Michael! Why are you in a wheelchair?" I asked worriedly. "Oh, I'm not!" said Michael and jumped out. But he nearly fell over. "Are you suurree?" I asked. "Well, I have to be in one while I'm in hospital but I really don't think..." Michael fell backwards into the wheelchair. "That I need one," he protested. "Yeah. Sure," LaToya giggled. "It's just while you're in hopital! Co-operate!" "Mm, at least it's not like Sash..." started Jermaine and stopped. Suddenly there was another load of silence. "What's going on?" I asked. "So, anyway, who thinks..." started Michael. "WHAT'S GOIN' ON!!" I screamed. More silence. Jermaine coughed. "SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENIN' TO ME!!" I shouted. "Look, you've had a rough day... Maybe..." "It's a simple question. If there was nothing wrong, you'd tell me. So what is going on?" I asked them quetly, simply. ""I won't tell her," said Jermaine. "I can't tell her," whispered Katherine. "I just... can't," said Michael. "I guess... I can't!" said LaToya. "SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THE F*** OR ELSE!" I shouted. "You'll never be able to walk again," whispered Katherine.
