Please vote -Kayla I met up with everybody at lunch today. Well, everyone except Ray and Jade. She was probably taking some " sick " days or dropped out. But I have no excuses for Ray. Well, maybe just one. He doesn't have the guts to show his face to Brandon or MJ again. After knocking up Brandon's girlfriend, and all of the bs he did to me, I'm not surprised. So I just sat there and ate my fries in peace. Princeton: So, I'm the only single one now, huh? I know his attention was mainly on MJ and I, who are sitting side by side. We still haven't spoken since this morning. I don't know why things are so strange between us. It's like every since this morning, we don't know each other anymore. MJ: Um, no. I'm single too man. He awkwardly looked down as he took a sip from his soda can, while Princeton looked at him as if he were crazy. Then he looked at me with the same expression. Princeton: Wait, you're still dating Ray? I looked at him wide-eyed. Me: No, we broke up. He rolled his eyes and returned to his lunch. Roc Royal: MJ, I thought as soon as she was available you'd be all over that bro code thing. Gia pinched his arm causing him to yelp in pain. MJ just slowly shook his head no as he ate one of my fries. Princeton: So, what happened between you two? From what I could tell, you two are meant to be together. He looked deeply intrigued, as well as everyone else. All eyes were on MJ and I. MJ: I gotta go. He ate one last fry and made his way out of the cafeteria. Then the table got quiet again. Roc Royal: I'll go make sure he's alright. He got up, but Gia held a hand out to stop him. Gia: I think Cierra should go. You guys look like you have some things to work out. I quickly shook my head and looked around the table. Everyone's expression seemed to agree with Gia. Brandon: You really should. Everyone nodded. I guess that's my cue. I got up and followed MJ out of the cafeteria. I even called his name a few times. At first, I thought he was ignoring me, but the third time he finally turned around. I guess he just didn't hear me. He stopped and waited for me to catch up but it took me a while because the hall was crowded. I finally caught up to him, but since the hallway was too noisy and crowded, I dragged him into the chemistry lab. He didn't say a word the whole time. He just quietly followed. We got to the lab and I locked the door behind us. I guess MJ knew the drill by now, because he sat down on one of the tables as usual. Me: We have 15 minutes until the bell rings so lets make this quick. MJ narrowed his eyebrows in confusion. I just rolled my eyes. Me: Come on, even our friends noticed it. There's something going on between us, and I want it to stop. I guess I caught him off guard. His eyebrows went straight up. Me: MJ!! Tell me what's wrong? I don't want it to be awkward between us anymore!! MJ sighed and looked down at his fingers. MJ: I really like you. I nodded slowly, telling him to continue. MJ: You already knew that, and I know you like me too. We get nervous around each other. And we feel safe around each other. I really like being with you, because you make me happy. I smiled a little at that. I knew he liked me, but I didn't know he felt that way about me. But that gushy feeling didn't last, because he opened his mouth again. MJ: But, I can't go out with you. The last sentence made my heart drop. I took a seat on the table across from MJ and looked him in the eyes. He was being serious. Me: B-but.. why.. why not? I couldn't even talk straight. MJ: I know the feelings I have for you are real. But, I don't want to ruin that. Me: Ruin what? Things are great between us. And everyone thinks its a good idea. Why don't you? MJ: I do!! But you're my best friend!! If things are already great, we don't have to change it!! Why fix something that's not broken? Me: We're not fixing it. We're making it better!! Like an upgrade!! The 10 minute warning bell went off. But MJ just kept on going. MJ: Cierra, I really like you. But if we turn it into something more, we might destroy what we already have. Me: And what is that? MJ: I don't know!! But I don't want it to end over a stupid fight like this. We might have in the future if we go out. He hopped off the table. I just looked at him in disbelief. I thought he wanted this as much as I did. MJ: Besides, my parents and your dad don't think its a good idea anyways. I still couldn't believe it. He's breaking up with me and we haven't even started dating yet. Me: MJ, please. I don't want to do this, and you don't want to do this. So can we talk about this later? I also hopped off the table. But MJ shook his head. MJ: There's nothing to talk about, Cierra. He took a step closer to me and held my hand in his, kissing it softly. MJ: I lo- like you. But I think we should be friends. TBC...
