Knives And Pens: Part 5
Part 5 ________ Sir Edwin: *pacing back and forth in the thorn room, Michael stands at the door to monitor me and makes sure I do not skip my lesson* Now, Princess Estella, when a queen walks into a room she holds herself with pride and honor. Chest poked up, head held high, arms always in front of her and back straight. *Turns to me, who was standing near Michael* Now, walk from Sir Michael to your thorn. I nodded towards Sir Edwin, looked towards Michael and then back to my teacher. I must have been walking a bit too fast-Sir Edwin was shaking his head as I made it toward him-I didn't go any further than that, either. This had to be the fifth time in the past few minutes that he has stopped me! He explained that I was walking too fast, my arms weren't in front of me and my chest wasn't poked out with pride. He said the way I walked was the way of a childish young girl; I felt a bit a annoyance once he said I was like a childish girl. He told me to do it again. I nodded, mumbling underneath my breath, but was stopped by Sir Edwin. Sir Edwin: Please, Princess, explain to me what you are mumbling. I would so like to know. Me: *turns to him* Do you really want to know Sir? Sir Edwin: It would be nice to know what you think of my teachings. Me: I find them useless and pointless. Sir Edwin: *taken back by how I told him the truth, goes back to his seriousness* I was assigned by your future husband, the King, it was his choice and decision to bring me here; your father trusted me for many years to bring you up as a proper young princess. *Looks at me* I can see I didn't do such a great job at that. I had finally had it with him! Me: I want you to leave now. I will write to the king about your dismissal. *Turns from him* Sir Edwin: Giving up just like you always have, Princess? When I look at you and the way you act, you act like your mother. She wasn't even fit to be put as the status of queen. Still having 'Lady' in her name. When you father divorced her, he did the best thing in the world. The queen now is his best choice. Me: *turns to him* That whore is no fit to be queen! Sir Edwin: Bite your tongue you wicked child! That "whore" is more fitted for titled of queen than your wretched mother ever was! Give birth to a boy and a girl, only for the girl to live! The king should have never left a child in charge of a kingdom! Me: *starts walking to him, not knowing I am walking the way he has asked me to, Michael stands silent yet amazed* "YOU hold your tongue, Sir Edwin! I am Princess Estella of Novehir (No-Vee-Ear) and soon to be Queen Estella! Your king-my king-my future husband left me in charge of his kingdom and castle while he is away at battle! I will not have you speak out against my king's wishes. True, yes, the king sent you; you are not needed, just like you were not needed for my princess lessons. I could have learned everything from MY mother, Queen Lady Christine. Call my mother anything you want, but she was far greater than the queen now. My stepmother is a worthless whore and shall remain that way. My father soon will see to it. And as for my brother, no one knew why he was born dead and I lived...but fate and God's choice was for me to live and become queen. *passes Sir Edwin and sits on my thorn, staring at him* As to you saying I am a mere child, I am not! I am a grown women who can think for herself. You are dismissed; my queenly lessons will be taught by me. I will be a great queen as my mother was, and I would like for you to tell my father I send my hope for his marriage-knowing all too well it will end." Sir Edwin left in a hurry, brushing his shoulder past Sir Michael. Bumping him out of the way, I stared down at that man with my nose high until I heard a slam of the doors. Nellie came in shortly after, hurrying to me. She bowed before coming forward. Nellie: Estella, have you gone mad? Me: That man was foolish; I did not need him. Nellie: But...King Austin Me: I know what King Austin did-I am in charge at the moment and I will see to what I see fit. Understood!? Nellie: Yes...*bows before leaving* It broke my heart to see Nellie walk away; maybe I shouldn't have took my anger out on her, but I was still steamed up from Sir Edwin. I sighed, folded my arms in my lap before getting up and walking away from my thorn. Why must being a Princess be so hard. Michael: My lady? Me: *turns to him* Michael: I want to show you something. Follow me. I nodded before making my way towards him. What does he have hidden for me? ________________ Until next time.
