Confetti - Introduction

*In this story, the setting is in Los Angeles, CA. The year is 
1984.  Also, the girl, Alyah will be portrayed by Ariana Grande.

It was about a week since me, my mom and my sister Emma had 
moved to Los Angeles. To be honest, I didn't like it. I was 
worried I wouldn't be as good as the others.. and I was terrified 
of the high school. What if.. they bullied me? Or.. what if I 
made no friends?

Brushing the thought aside, I walked to the end of the aisle and 
examined a plain purple backpack. Me, my mom and Emma were 
shopping for school supplies. Fun.

Oh.. let me tell you a little about me. My name is Alyah Summers. 
I'm 17. My birthday is in one week. I have red hair. Well, 
technically, it's not red. My natural hair color is brown but I 
dyed it red velvet because I love red velvet cupcakes. I was born 
in Chicago, IL. My family moved to Phoenix, AZ when I was 6 years 
old. And now, I'm 17. & we moved to Los Angeles.

Now.. I haven't mentioned my father because.. he's dead. Wait, 
no. He's not dead. He's resting in peace. I hate saying the word 
'dead'. It just kills me..

Okay.. moving on.
