I Can Treat You Better *Part Five*
Hello! Please enjoy and vote!! <3 <3 <3 ---------------------------------------------------------------- *The next day, July 16, 1987* I sat gloomily on the couch, just crying and regretting what I did last night. Why did I kiss him? What had gotten into me? I didn't know; it just happened. I know that wasn't a good excuse, but that's what really happened. It just came out of nowhere. I felt so guilty and empty inside. My butler, Gorgio, answered the door, since the doorbell rang. Gorgio: Miss Sanders, Ms. Taylor has come to see you. Me: (melancholy) Let her in, please. I saw Elizabeth walk in with flowers, I guess to cheer me up. Elizabeth: How are you this morning, dear? I got you some flowers to bring your spirits up. Me: (takes them) Thank you very much. (puts them in some water) Want any coffee or something? Elizabeth: Oh, no thank you, dear. I just came up here to talk to you to see what happened. Me: (shakes my head) There's nothing to talk about. Elizabeth: Oh, yes there is. Don't you lie to me, Melinda. Why did you leave last night? I thought you and Michael were getting along so well. Me: (sighs) It's complicated. Elizabeth: Well, you can talk to me about anything. You're like a daughter to me. It took some time to talk to her about this, but eventually, I did. Me: Well...do you remember when Mother told me about men? Elizabeth: Yes, I do...(gasps) *Flashback to 1969* Mother: Remember what I say, child. Never kiss a man whenever you've just met him. Only floozies do that. Don't be one of those easy, loose women, you hear? Me: Yes, Mother. *Back in 1987* Elizabeth stared at me, looking very suprised, as I had my head down, just completely ashamed and embarassed. Elizabeth: Oh...Melinda. You didn't kiss him, did you? She looked at me like she didn't want to believe that I would ever do that. Me: (nods head, tears filling my eyes) Yeah... But Elizabeth wasn't upset at me for it. She consoled me. Elizabeth: (holds me) Darling, it's okay. Me: No, it's not. I'm easy and loose... Elizabeth: No, you aren't. You just made one mistake. Me: (crying) I should've listened to Mother. Elizabeth: Oh, sweetheart. It's not like you had sex with him...but I do understand what you're coming from. (rubs my hair back) Me: I feel so bad...(bawling) Elizabeth came up and held me tightly as I uncontrollably sobbed, wishing I had never done what I had done. She never mentioned Michael's name around me ever since. ---------------------------------------------------------------- * Two months later, September 10, 1987* Ever since that whole kissing incident with Michael Jackson, I had completely moved on with my life and I forgot about the whole situation. With my three major Hollywood movies, I bought three houses all over the world: one in New York City, one in Japan, and one in Milan. Plus, I still had my Beverly Hills mansion and I even had a condo in Miami. I had lost ten pounds, even though I was never overweight to begin with. I started feeling more girly, and sexy, and just valuable. Before, I was mostly a tomboy, but I became feeling better about myself. I was on the August 1987 cover of Vogue, and the magazine included an exclusive photoshoot of me in various dresses and skirts. In another magazine, I was voted the "Prettiest Woman of the Month" by voters. I also had a new boyfriend, Rick. He was a businessman, who lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, so I rarely saw him at times. One day in early August, I got a phone call from the director, William Wyler. He wanted me to play a role in a new movie, "Darling, Darling," as the lead female. This movie wasn't part of the movie series. I agreed and the beginning of the movie would begin in Japan. On September 10, 1987, I landed in Tokyo. I planned on staying at my new house I puchased there, but they were not finished with the house yet, so I had to stay at a hotel. When I entered the Hotel Hagatachi (I made it up), I learned something that brought me back to the past. TBC... Vote, please!!!
