Just Perfect
It was a beautiful sunny day. It was the last day of school, and everyone was waiting to hear that final bell. I was thinking of that day when me and my family were leaving to go to Indiana for the whole summer. RING! Everyone shot up out of their seats and ran out the door. I got up slowly and said good-bye to my teacher and wished her a happy summer. Teacher: Thank you. Hope you have a wonderful summer yourself, Becca. Me: Thank you. I walked down the stairs and out the door. I walked past all the buses and went to where I had parked my bike in the morning. I pedaled down the road looking at the beautiful flowers and trees. As I pedaled up the driveway, I was greeted by my little, identical twin 6 year old sisters, Nina and Tina. Nina and Tina: Becca!!! Me: Hi! How are you? Nina: Good. Tina: Even better! Becca: That's good. Nina and Tina: Guess what?!?! Me: What? Nina: You like Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, right? Me: Yes? Tina: And you know how we're going to Indiana tomorrow? Me: Yes? I started getting excited and anxious. Nina: Should I tell her? Tina: Nah, she won't want to know. Nina: I think she does want to know. Tina:*smiling* NAH! Me: WHAT!?!? Nina and Tina: MICHAEL AND HIS BROTHERS ARE GOING TO BE STAYING IN THE SAME HOTEL WE ARE!!!! I drop my bike and start jumping up and down screaming. Me: OMG!! How do you know? Nina: When you were in school... Tina: We were watching the news with mommy and daddy... Nina: And then they said that Michael Jackson and his brothers are vacationing in the Krystal Stone Hotel... Tina: Which is the hotel we're staying at. Me: How do you know that we're staying in the Krystal Stone Hotel? Nina and Tina: Mommy and Daddy. Me: Awesome! Thank you for telling me that. I hug them and we race inside and I hug my parents. Me: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for choosing the hotel that we're staying at. Mother: They told you didn't they? Me: Yeah. Nina and Tina start giggling and run up to their room. Mother: They weren't suppose to tell you that until we got there. Me: Too late. Father: I'm glad your happy. Now can you please go upstairs and help your sisters pack and you pack as well? Me: Ok. I start walking to the stairs and I hear my parents whispering. Mother: She's so happy. Father: Yes she is. But wait until we tell her that we know them personally. Then she'll be really happy. I stop listening and quietly clap my hands together and jump up and down. I walk upstairs to find my sisters looking at something underneath Tina's bed. Nina: She'll be so happy that we got this for her from mommy and daddy. Tina: Yeah! And it's even signed by him. I knock on the door acting like I didn't hear anything. Me: Hi, Nina. Hey Tina. What are you doing? Tina quickly shoves the gift under the bed. Then they both stand up acting all innocent. Nina and Tina: Nothing... Nina: How long have you been standing there? Me: A while. Tina: What did you hear? Me: Everything. Nina: Oh man! We're bad at this secret keeping. Tina: I know! Mommy and Daddy should never trust us. They both nod. Mother comes up and see's me standing in the doorway. Mother: Did she find out? Nina and Tina nod at the same time. Mother: Well, no use hiding anything anymore. Me: How much time do you guys have when I'm at school? Nina and Tina: A LOT! Mother: Well, I guess I'll tell you whats been going on. Well, when me and your father were dating, we met Joseph and Katherine... Me:*interrupting* Michael's mother and father. Mother: Yes. We met them at a library. Then we started talking, and we've been great friends ever since. And when you were born, we found that Michael, their 7th child, was born on the same day but 2 hours earlier. And I've been telling Katherine about what you look like and she said that you sound beautiful. I smile. Me: So you guys planned seeing Michael and his family at the same hotel and staying there, too? Mother: Yes. Me: OMG! Thank you. But what's that under Tina's a bed? Mother: A record. Tina: Should I give it to her, mommy? Mother: Well, now that she knows, I guess so. Tina takes the record from under her bed and hands it to me. I take the wrapping paper off and it was Michael's solo record Got To Be There. Michael signed it. Me: Thank you. To both you and my lovely sisters. Nina and Tina smile. Mother hugs me and I go into my room to pack. I sit on my bed looking at his signature then under his signature it said, "look on the back" I flipped the record over and it was a letter from Michael. Me:*reading*... "Dear Becca, I'm counting down the days I finally get to meet you. I heard that your birthday is the same as mine. So, I guess you're 14,too. I hope we can spend as much time as we can so we can get to know each other. Oh no, my father's coming. Can't let him see me writing on this. All I can say now is, can't wait to see you.
