Do I Know You?....Part 9

Michael: I see you've met Janet.
Me: Yes. She looks just like your mom. She's very beautiful.
Janet: Thanks Angie.
Michael: It's Angelina, be respectful of other people Jan.
Me: I don't mind. (Smiles with Michael) Hey where are your other brothers? 
Michael: At some concert trying out their pick up lines on the ladies. (We both laughed)
Jess: It was great seeing you all again, but Leon may be expecting us home for dinner.
Michael: Do you three live together?
Me: It's a very long story. It was great to see you again Michael. Thankyou for having us over. (Hugs him) Bye Janet Damita Jo.
Janet: Keep in touch, Angie.

Jess and I got into the car. I sink into the leather seat and close my eyes, content on falling asleep. Jessica clears her throat.

Me: Mm hm?
Jess: That was nice of Michael to forgive us, huh?
Me: Yes it was. He's a very nice man. In all my time at That's Real!, i've never met a more down to earth celebrity. Jessica, he was eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich when we got there! That was so cute.
Jess: Yeah he always was a cutie.

We got home and Leon was sprawled out on the couch, snoring. I watched as Jess brought him a pillow and blanket and tucked him in. She kissed him as I watched, slightly envious. She walked with me out the back to have a deep and meaningful chat. I stretched onto the poolside lounge chairs, absolutely exhausted. Jess propped herself on a chair.

How on earth did Jess find such a nice guy? Nowadays it is hard enough to find one that will even cook dinner for you. I just wish I had a man to love and hold when it's dark, when we're watching a scary movie, when it's raining outside and a man to kiss.

I watched as she fixed a crease in in her girly shorts. She smoothed her long blonde hair so it fell lightly onto her shoulder. She was sitting cross-legged with her hands clasped together. Jessica was such a girly girl, but i'm a tomboy. Maybe that's why I can't find a guy. The best I could get was Dereck. And you and I both know that didn't end well.

Me: Am I ugly Jess?
Jess: What!?
Me: Am I? Be honest.
Jess: No way Ange! You're the prettiest woman I know. Trust me, you're hot! Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Something on your mind?
Me: Just the fact that other than Dereck (Jess made a disgusted face), i've been single since high school. I've only had two boyfriends ever.
Jess: Two?
Me: The other was Brett. 
Jess: Oh yeah.

Brett was a senior at the time. I was a freshman and he was only looking for one thing. We only went out for a few days before I called it quits.

Jess: Oh I think things will look up for you soon.
Me: How so?
Jess: I'll tell you later. It's late. C'mon, i'll help you into bed.

We went to bed and I didn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn for work. Michelle said I can take a second day off for doing such a good job with Michael.

I woke up at about 9:30am. Leon had left for work at the Building Site and Jess had left for work as a hairdresser. I had a message on my phone.

From: Mike
To: Ange (lol I figured out how to change my phone's name)

Hey Angie, it's me Michael.

Michelle told me you had the day off and I wanted to know if you'd like to hang out here for the day. Jan and momma Katherine really wanted to see you again. We've got a pool, so you should bring your bathers. Tell me if you can.

Michael :)

I replied:

To: Mike

Love to, see you at about 10:30. Tell Jan and momma Katherine I can't wait to see them again.
