Me: Umâ?¦Errâ?¦.Uhhâ?¦..
Mom: Michael, whoâ??s this?
Tiana: Hi my name is Tiana. I attend the same school as Michael.
Mom: Iâ??m his mother Katherine. Nice to meet you. Are you staying for tea? (hugs her)
Tiana: If itâ??s okay?
Mom: Of course.

Mom leaves to check on dinner.

Tiana: Can I see your room?
Me: Okay but I share with Marlon. Heâ??s extremely messy. Brace yourself for something youâ??ve never seen before.
Tiana: (winks) I think I can handle it.

We walk to my room and Tiana smiles to herself. I look at her and all of a sudden, her face turns from amusement to horror. I stop smiling. Oh. My. God.

Her bra is hanging off the end of my bed.

She quickly checks her bag to be sure. Yep, itâ??s not in there.

Tiana walks quickly to my bed and yanks the bra into her bag and turns for my door. I give her a look that says â??Iâ??m sorry.â? She runs downstairs and I realize what an idiot Iâ??ve made of myself.

Me: Tiana! Iâ??m sorry! Please let me explain!
Tiana: Oh yeah?! Explain why my bra was on your bed! Explain why my diary is missing! Explain why my phoneâ??s not in my bagâ?¦Huh!?
Me: Tiana believe me. It wasnâ??t my fault!
Tiana: Please, just leave me alone, creep. 
Me: Tiana! (Grabs her softly by the shoulder)
Tiana: You know what? I should have known, all you famous rock stars are only interested in one thing. I feel so stupid!

She runs down the street to her house.

I run to the guys and snatch the diary and phone.

Me: Idiots!
Jackie: Jeez, Mike. Take a chill pill. Whatâ??s so great about that girl? Thereâ??s plenty of fish in the sea.
Me: Iâ?¦.I donâ??t know why. She just seems nice and pretty, I guess.
Jackie: Well she likes someone like that too.
Me: Who?
Jackie: Hmm itâ??s interesting, thatâ??s for sure.
Me: Give it here. Give me the phone too.

I grab them and go upstairs. What am I doing? This is so un-gentleman of me. But she thinks I have gone through it anyway. I might as well. I open the last diary entry page and gasp.

â??Monday, recess 
Dear Diary,
Today two members of the Jackson Five started school. Jermaine, Michael and Marlon. Michael is interesting. Iâ??ll admit that I have a tiny crush on him. He has really cute brown eyes. I donâ??t think he even notices me though. Super embarrassing!
Love Tianaâ?

I feel terrible. Tiana has a crush on meâ?¦ at least she used to. I shove the book closed and go to sleep. This was the worst day ever.

**Next morning
Mom: Wake up sleepy head. Time to get ready for school.
Me: Why bother?
Mom: Whatâ??s the matter?
Me: Remember Tiana? Well long story short is she hates me. Itâ??s all my fault. I embarrassed her.
Mom: Oh honey. If you run from your problems it will only get worse. Get to school with your head held high and apologize to Tiana. Iâ??m sure she will forgive you.
Me: Yeah okay then. I feel like a jerk.
Mom: Thatâ??s my boy.
Randy: Mom can you help me get ready? Damn pants wonâ??t zip up!
Me: Ew Randy thatâ??s gross. (Joking, seductive voice) Why donâ??t you let me zip dem pants up? 
Randy: Ahh! (Runs away scared)

I laugh and get ready for school. Even for the occasion, mom dug up a sunflower from our backyard and cleaned it up so I could give it to Tiana. Too bad she wasnâ??t at school that day to collect them.

â?¦She wasnâ??t there the next dayâ?¦

â?¦Or the next.

She hasnâ??t come to school all week.
And itâ??s all my fault.
Maybe I should visit her?
