It was after church on a windy Sunday morning and what did I get out of the sermon? Nothing. My father was with other men his age having intellegent conversation so he says. Intellegent. His idea of intellegent was probably sleeping with a woman less than half age! Anyways, outside I was holding on tightly on the ugly black jacket over my plain blue dress. The wind was blowing my hair all over the place which was in a messy bun anyway. After my mother died, appearance never mattered to me. She was the exact opposite. She would be the prettiest woman in the sidelines watching her little girl at any function. My thoughts were interrupted by someone calling my name.                                                                                                                                                                      Kerry, is that you? i turned and it was my friend Yolanda who was alot prettier than me. Nope. Its me, Miss.Diana Ross. I said laughing. Well then, did you hear that the Jackson 5 are coming to Lenas birthday party, Diana? Yolanda said excitedly. Lena our rich classmate. We wont get an invite. At least i wont, I said dryly. Cheer up, I will ask for you. Yolanda suggested. No you dont have to, I said. How embaressing! Having your bestie ask people to get you in a party. Kerry, you are putting past the chance of meeting them. I know how much you like Michael, Yolanda said with a smirk. I shrugged and let her go ask Lena. Lena shouted at me, Of course you can come,Kerry! I know she was being sarcastic but at least I would see my idols. All that was needed was a hairstyle and new clothes.
