five girls - five jacksons pt.9
Hey my fellow mj-followers :P finally another part, lol :))) this is dedicated to mandy, norah and everybody else who has been asking for this part. But most of all this is for my girl TatYaNa :)))) and my sweetiepie Michael joseph jackson (luv u mostest, applehead!) PART 9 Benâ??s Sound Of Chicago (lol, couldnâ??t think of a better name) had always opened at nine, lunch break from twelve to one pm, open until six thirty. The old store was positioned right on the street corner. It had been there for decades, some of the records displayed in the window were already bleached by the sun and tattered at the edges. The old sign in the shop door had been there since Ben had opened the place. On it was written the word â??OPENâ? as it hung slightly lopsided in the glass pain which made up the door. Once having crossed the threshold the customer found himself in another world. Rows and rows of records jumbled closely together for lack of room, old posters of musical geniuses plastered across the walls, a small counter with a cash register perched on top of it, uncle Benâ??s old saxophone on a small stand at the far end of the storeâ?¦â?¦â?¦ There was a certain feeling of magic in the air, as if the musicians whose autographed records hung in frames all around the shop were actually present, letting their talent light up the place. The store held all kinds of musical genres â?? not only soul, jazz and Motown! There were plenty of people who came to the store to buy the hottest new disco single and there was also a rock section and some country. We absolutely LOVED working at Benâ??s Sound of Chicago! In fact it was almost like the old Gary days, because we were all together and we always have music playing in the store and we sang, danced and simply jammed. Our customers didnâ??t mind us crazy P.Y.T.s one bit. Often theyâ??d stay after having purchased their records to watch us have fun and they often joined in! Each day passed so quickly! We locked up and were off to the Jacksons house every evening after work and at the weekends we spent the whole day with our wonderful newfound friends (who had now officially become boyfriends :). Janet, Latoya and Rebbie often hung out with us, too and Katherine as well. The one person I never really got to know that well was Joe Jackson. He was hardly ever home anyway and when he did finally show up it was mostly an unexpected and very short visit. Joe didnâ??t like to talk that much. Well, maybe he just didnâ??t like talking to us girlsâ?¦â?¦.but he DID like us, I think. I canâ??t be sure though. There was something about him that always scared me a little to this day I have the greatest respect for this man. He may have been VERY harsh and much too hard on his family, but BOY how heâ??d managed to fight for his sonâ??s future and their phenomenal success. Stillâ?¦â?¦..Jermaine, Jackie, Randy, Marlon, Latoya, Rebbie, Katherine, Janet and Michael sometimes seemed wary in his presenceâ?¦â?¦and who could blame them. They told us many stories about what their rehersals used to be likeâ?¦â?¦â?¦. I really adored the Jackson sisters! Janet was just the sweetest thing ever and I got on very well with Latoya and even Rebbie, even though she was much older than I was. My girls and I became Katherineâ??s babies :) She fussed over us and loved us as if we were her own! I think they appreciated usâ?¦â?¦..very much! I donâ??t think they were used to people just liking them for who they were and who werenâ??t just money hungry fakes. They were grateful to have us and we felt even more blessed to have them. One day we were just closing for lunch. Olivia went to the door and changed the sign from â??OPENâ? to â??CLOSEDâ? and Jay immediately ran over to the record player to put on some different music. George Bensonâ??s voice suddenly rang out across the store, telling us to give him the night (if you donâ??t know which song Iâ??m talking about then hereâ??s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHQivOn5bH8 and yeeaaah I know it was only out in 1980 but I just LOVE this song!!!! And why is it so good? YES, ladies and gents, cause it was written by none other than Rod Temperton, one of the greatest musical geniuses!!!!) Jay: (jumping up onto the counter) SING it to me P.Y.T.s!!!!!!! Olivia: (cranking up the volume) Whenever dark has fallenâ?¦ Pam: â?¦You know the spirit of the party starts to come aliveâ?¦ Stevie: â?¦until the day is dawningâ?¦ The three of them together: â?¦you can throw out all the blues and hit the city lightsâ?¦ Me: (starting to dance) â?¦cause thereâ??s music in the airâ?¦ Jay: â?¦and lots of lovin evâ??rywhereâ?¦ Jay and me together: ...so gimme the night! Olivia, Pam, Stevie: â?¦alrightâ?¦â?¦tonight! Jay: (using a pen as her microphone) â?¦gimme the night! O, P, S: (in breathy voices, lol) â?¦eeeevâ??ry niiiiiight! Jay and I: You need the evening action A place to dine, a glass of wine and a little late romance Itâ??s a chain reaction Youâ??ll see the people of the world coming out to dance All of us: Cause thereâ??s music in the airâ?¦and lots of lovin evâ??rywhereâ?¦so gimme the night!!! Me & Stevie: Yeah yeah yeah! P.Y.T.s: Gimme the night Me & Stevie: All right tonight! Me: So come on out tonight And weâ??ll lead the others on a ride through paradise ??? (singing in unison with me in a strangely familiar whispery voice): And if you feel all right Then we can be lovers â??cause I see that starlight in your eyes Well donâ??t you know we can flyâ?¦.? We spun around startled! The store was closed, it said so on the sign, so what were customers already doing back here?!?! There were two figures standing in the entrance of the store. One slightly smaller than the other was a young friendly looking woman. She couldnâ??t have been any older than nineteen or maybe twenty. She had a kind face with sparkling eyes and long lightish hair. The other person who was a bit taller and judging by his slight but strong build probably a man was wearing a big black hoodie pulled down over his face and baggy trousers. Something about this his stance and slim hips seemed VERY familiar to meâ?¦ Stevie quickly walked over to the record player and turned down the volume a bit. Then she turned towards our mysterious new customers frowning slightly. Stevie: Umâ?¦excuse me, but how may I help you? Weâ??re actually still closed for lunch, but erâ?¦ Tall stranger (pulling off his hoodie) oh, come on, Stevie! Give us a break! You KNOW what would happen if I walked in here with all the customers around. Me: (squealing) MICHAEL!!!!!! I ran towards him and flung my arms around his neck planting kisses all over his face and jaw. Michael staggered back slightly startled by this enthusiastic greeting. Pam: (giggling) easy now! Me: (breaking free and glaring at her) Shut up, Pam! Pam: (pretending to sulk) Oh yeah, I forgot! Thatâ??s all I do around here! I didnâ??t usually act like this around him when other people were present, but I just couldnâ??t help myself! Michael looked so delicious in his baggy clothesâ?¦. Michael smiled shyly and gently pressed his lips against mineâ?¦â?¦. Everyone: OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!!! We broke apart. Michael was blushing like crazy as he shot a shy sideways glance at me. I shook off all my embarrassment and wrapped my arms around his waist laying my head on his shoulder. Michael beamed down at me, his face all lit up like a Christmas tree as he held me close to him. Stevie: (chuckling) I knew I recognized that voice of yours, Mikey! And those shoesâ?¦â?¦(glancing down at Michaelâ??s penny loafers)â?¦â?¦are a dead giveaway! Michael: (looking down at his feet) Oh damn!!!! I knew Iâ??d forgotten something! Young mystery woman: (gently tugging on Michaelâ??s sleeve) ummmâ?¦.Michael?? Arenâ??t you going to introduce me??? The young woman had an accent that was ever so slight, I couldnâ??t quite place it thoughâ?¦ Michael: (smacking his forehead) Oh, how rude of me! Iâ??m sorry! Everyoneâ?¦..this is Tatyanaâ?¦â?¦..my manager! Tatyanaâ?¦â?¦this is my girlfriend Beth (blushing a little), her younger sister Olivia, her older sister Stevie who owns this store, their best friend Jay and her cousin Pam. Tatyana: (shaking hands with all of us) Hi, nice to meet you guys! Michael has told me so much about you! Stevie: (smiling) I hope only good stuff!!! Tatyana: (laughing) Of course! He tells me you have a lot of musical talent! And judging by what I heard and saw just now I must say he was not exaggerating! Pam: Oh, umâ?¦â?¦..wow! Thanks! Me: (looking at Michael) You really said that, baby??? Michael: (kissing me on the nose) Yup! Tatyana really wanted to see you pretty young thangs for herself and since I know what youâ??re all like and that youâ??d never perform anything even if I begged I decided to bring her to your store. I know how you love to jam here! Stevie: Are you REALLY Michaelâ??s manager??? Forgive me for asking, but how old are you, Tatyana? You seem so youngâ?¦â?¦.. Tatyana: (grinning) Iâ??m 21 and yes, I really am Mikeâ??s managerâ?¦â?¦â?¦I also manage his brothersâ?¦â?¦â?¦you know, the whole group! Quincy and Michael have been working on his new album, itâ??s very exciting, we have so much going on right now! Itâ??s gonna be released on August 10th, so weâ??re really excited Olivia: 21????????????? How in the world does a person become lucky enough to manage Michael friggin Jackson??? (sideways glance at Michael) pardon my french, Michael! Michael: (giggling) Well, Tatyana happens to be Rod Tempertonâ??s goddaughter. You know how Rod has written some of the songs on my new album? Us: (nodding) Michael: Well, Rod actually lives in Worms (which is in Germany, by the way :P) and a few months ago Tatyana decided to come here to the States all the way from Germany, because Rod said she could get a quick job here in the music biz! Itâ??s been her dream since forever to come here. Me: So THATâ??S where youâ??re from! I couldnâ??t quite place your accent! Tatyana: Oh my, is it that obvious? (laughing) I must say I was in seventh heaven when Rod suggested to Quincy and Michael that I could become the Jacksonâ??s manager! Michael: As a matter of fact Quincy and Tatyana have invited you girls over to Westlake Recording Studios on Saturday. Quincy wants to hear yâ??all sing! P.Y.T.s: ..... ... Phew, that was LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG, sorry about that, i just didn't want to break it off :))) Oh, i hope you noticed what lyrics mikey sings with beth...just thought it kinda suited them :)) Well, Tatyana, i hope you like your part in this story :))) Don't forget to vote, guys lots of L.O.V.E. - emy -
