Tough Love Part 4
I wasnâ??t sure how I felt, or what I felt. Michael had me feeling a bit of emotions. Iâ??m not the one to let someone crack the ice cube around my heart. I bet it isnâ??t even red anymore; itâ??s actually an eerie blue/purple color. Blood thatâ??s supposed to be red is blue, including my both my veins. I took a warm shower, while cleaning my face off. I put a white blouse on with a green cami under. Then I put some green on shorts too. I wasnâ??t sure what I wanted to watch on TV, so I decided, Why not a scary flick? It would be somewhat entertaining. I didnâ??t think what we had would be helpful, so I decided to go to Michaelâ??s room. I tip-toed there, and the door was cracked. Slowly, I pushed it open. I went to the tall chest, to see if I could find any scary movies. I saw everything but DVDs. I closed the drawer and his door, disappointed. The reason I didnâ??t check any further was because I didnâ??t want him catching me. I trucked downstairs to see Michael trying to shove the last of some cereal in his mouth. I turned away and giggled a little. Catching him in an awkward way was rewarding somehow. There wasnâ??t anything left in the box, so I went up to him, grabbed it, and threw it in the trashcan. He looked away with a hidden smirk. (Me) â??Didnâ??t want the singerâ??s tongue to go dry.â? (Michael) â??Hey, thanks for the concern.â? (Me) â??No doubt about it.â? Then I got two bags of popcorn, put both in the microwave. I got out two cans of Sprite, and white powder doughnuts. After I put the two bags of popcorn in the bowl, I searched for a horror film. I ended up finding â??I Drink Your Bloodâ? that was made in 1970. My dad thought I was too scared to watch it, so I never looked at it thoroughly. Well Iâ??m sixteen now, I thought, so Iâ??m old enough. So I popped the DVD in and let the previews and trailers run through. I turned off the living room lights, but kept the kitchen one on, since Michael was still in there. Then I sat on the couch, and put a stray blanket over me, and popped the first soda can open. Michael came in. (Michael) â??Hey, what ya watching?â? I turned around, irritable. (Me) â??â??I Drink Your Bloodâ??, why?â? (Michael) â??Oh, I never go to watch that. I hate scary movies.â? Then he jumped over the couch, sitting next to me. (Me) â??Then why are you watching?â? (Michael) â??Good way to pass over time.â? Then he looked down at my other drink. (Michael) â??Must be for me.â? I immediately snatched it from him. (Me) â??No, itâ??s for me.â? He just put his hands up, surrendering. He went to get his own, when I yelled for him to get some cookie dough. (Me) â??Pwease.â? (Michael) â??Anything for you, my friend.â? When he came back with the sugar cookie dough, I said thanks in a sarcastic; but friendly way. (Michael) â??You are so welcome.â? I stayed on my half of the sofa and he stayed on his. Through the movie, popcorn kernel got stuck in the crack of my teeth, and I was gagging. It was poking on the top row of teethâ??doing major Leather face action to my gums. While I was choking, I pulled at my teeth with a toothpick. I pulled one last time, and felt the stick jerk in my top gum, and scrape against the top. (Me) â??Holyâ?¦!â? Michael was much in the movieâ??to the point he didnâ??t even notice I was choking (And he claims he cares for me), that when I screeched out my statement, it caught him off guard and made him alert. (Michael) â??What happened?â? I ran to the bathroom, half-blind since it was so dark, and opened my mouth wide to see the damage. Just like I thought, or what you would think that I just thought up, it was a thin squiggly cut across my top gum. The part where your tongue would stick to, if you were trying to hide something from a teacher, that is. Michael came behind me. Without warning, he took my face between his soft handsâ??making my face seem like it had many errors. Like little bumps were hidden in greasy spots. He expected my gums. (Michael) â??Good, I donâ??t think the cut is that deep. But just the slightest nick in your mouth is the most painful. Let me get you to a dentist.â? (Me) â??Iâ??ll be fine. Move over.â? The pain felt very disturbing. I already had stupid phobias about holes and cuts being made in leather chairsâ??and this felt the same way. The thin gash in me was the cushion over flowing, and the surrounding parts were the leather. All together, I was disgusted with my gums. I took a glass, sprinkled salt in the bottom, poured some water, and watch the salt evaporate. In one gulp, I swooshed the salty water through my mouth, trying to clean it out, and yelped out of pain when the gash felt on bitter fire. I spit the salt out, and noticed a long streak of thin red coming from my mouth. My gums were bleeding out! (Me) â??Okay, okay, Lyric.â? I was whispering to myself. This was painful. My reflexes told me to rinse the salty cup out, and put cold water in it. So thatâ??s what I did. Michael came up to me with a sort of I-told-you-so expression. I did a sarcastic grin, and then explained to himâ??keeping my defense up pretty well. (Me) â??For some reason, my dentist is only open Mondays through Thursdays. No Fridays through Sunday kind of thing.â? (Michael) â??Well, first thing on Monday, weâ??ll get that gum of yours fixed.â? (Me) â??No can do. Have to be in school. Remember?â? (Michael) â??Of course. Youâ??ll just get checked out.â? (Me) â??Let me go in there and sign my own name. Youâ??ll let me do that much, wont you?â? (Michael) â??If you wish.â? (Me) â??Iâ??ll take some pain medicine, now.â? (Michael) â??Go ahead.â? The pain didnâ??t ease up much. I felt I was experiencing more pain in my mouth, than the innocent victims did throughout the rest of â??I Drink Your Bloodâ?. By the time Clarence got home, it was nine. (Clarence) â??So sorryâ??itâ??s late of me. The guys kind of got out of hand. They were watching the game, trying to drink while on duty. I had to settle them down a bit. I also had to calm myself down.â? (Me) â??Itâ??s okay Dad. I know itâ??s a sorry excuse to say, but I was watching â??I Drink Your Bloodâ??.â? His expression was a stern, yet friendly humorous look. â??Iâ??m old enough to watch it now, Dad. But like I was saying, I was watching that, and kind of got queasy in the stomach.â? (Clarence) â??Thatâ??s exactly why I tell you to not watch horror films. Especially that one.â? (Me) â??It was a lot of blood. Itâ??s even in the title.â? (Clarence) â??My point exactly. Well, we can always heat up some TV dinners. How about it Lyric? You, me, and Michael. Where is he, anyway?â? (Me) â??I donâ??t know. All I know is heâ??s upstairs. Not sure whatâ??s heâ??s doing, though.â? (Clarence) â??Both of you stayed here all day, after I left?â? He eyebrows kind of raised in suspicion. (Me) â??Yeah, why ask? When I came back, you werenâ??t here.â? My voice was a little sharper than I intended it to be. And I was careful to not say â??weâ? â??making it singular so Clarence wouldnâ??t know Michael and I spent all day together. Not under my wishes. He raised his hands in surrender. (Clarence) â??Just asking. What did you with himâ???â? (Me) â??Nothing you would need to worry about.â? Michael came down the stairs then. He was wearing a bright smile with a white t-shirt on, and yellow sleeves with the same colored collar. (Michael) â??Back so soon?â? (Clarence) â??Yep, I am. How was it today, dealing with the caged animal and all?â? Haha Clarence, thatâ??s why I secretly called you Clarence, and not Dad. (Michael) â??It was all too peaceful.â? Clarence turned to me with a dramatic pause. (Clarence) â??Oh my Lyric, what did you do to the poor boy?â? (Me) I was getting very irritable, so I rolled my eyes. No acting whatsoever. â??Nothing Dad, sheesh.â? (Clarence) â??All Lyric, lighten up Honey. You really need to get out of this depression.â? I glared at him. (Me) â??I am not depressed!â? He knew where this was headed: how I was going to accuse him for not understanding about my former lifestyle. (Clarence) cutting me off, l Clarence said this, â??So Michael, about going fishing next Saturday, canâ??t. Iâ??m cat-sitting for one of my favorite ladies.â? (Me) â??Dad, I donâ??t think you can consider an 80 year old lady one of your â??ole ladiesâ??. Must be talking about Ms. Alexander.â? (Clarence) â??What? Every time that dang cat, Cleo gets stuck up that tree, I have to stop by and get it. Better yet, Iâ??m always on my way to work when it just so happens to get â??stuckâ??. I think Ms. Alexander has a crush on me. But the lady is over fifty years of my age.â? I caught on fast. I knew Ms. Alexander had a granddaughter. Sheâ??s very pretty and skinny. Mama was like that in older pictures, right before she had me. She isnâ??t chubby or anything, but I have noticed her losing weight, which made me proud. (Me) â??Dad, I know youâ??re just thinking of Ms. Alexanderâ??s granddaughter, Shaun.â? I folded my arms, staring him down with dagger eyes. (Clarence) â??Oh great, not another case of jealous daughter.â? Then he chuckled. (Me) â??No, itâ??s not like that.â? (Clarence) â??You want me and your mother back together?â? (Me) â??Why not? The both of you created me anyways. For a special purpose, at that.â? (Clarence) he came up to hug me. â??And havenâ??t looked back since.â? When I peeked from his shoulder, I saw Michael with an expression on his face that was somewhat a smile. (Clarence) â??But, if Shaun and I get to talking, things will just go from there.â? (Me) while walking away, I mumbled this, â??Yeah, and Iâ??m gonna get the TV dinners ready. What you want, Dad?â? (Clarence) he shrugged it off, so I took it that it really wouldnâ??t offend him in anyway. (Me) â??Michael?â? His mind was so in the clouds, so I had to repeat my question again. (Michael) â??Oh, um, Iâ??I donâ??t care.â? Take it heâ??s a veggie. Dinner was, wall letâ??s just say, interesting. We actually ate in the living room! I sat at the coffee table, on a pillow like I was Bahavain (like the girl Meena from â??Cory in the Houseâ? lol.) or something. Michael and Clarence used old magazines (ooh I so just though of something this instant!) when Clarence spilled a splatter of gravy on a cover of a Jet magazine. (Clarence) â??Whoa, whoa! Lyric, lift the beam of the lampâ??s light for me.â? I got up and raised the lightsâ?? beam, so we could see it better. Clarence raised the magazine up for Michael and me to see. The biggest picture that was in the way wasnâ??t the problem, but on the side, inside the heart was a picture of Michael dolled up as his character, the Scarecrow, from â??The Wizâ?, smiling brightly. But on his left cheek, there was a cut-clip art picture of Tatum Oâ??Neal kind of bending, like you would when you were air-blowing a kiss to someone on National-TV. Her lips were puckered, with a light kiss on the left of his cheek. The head title under that was â??While He was doinâ?? the Wiz, she had him doinâ?? the Biz!â?, and the caption in small print on the picture, to the bottom right said, â??Mike, and Tay. Will they last?â? The magazine was a few months old, but still my heart stop. Michaelâ??s was beating in his throat, while my dumb dad had a goofy grin on his face. And this is to be the life. So, so, very sorry guys I havenâ??t posted in a while. I actually was going to officially on Katherineâ??s birthday, which I thought was so cool, but my computer has been crazy. Right now, it was to be fixed by my cousin. So Iâ??m using the desk top right now. I havenâ??t stop thinking about it, though. I even made another character; he should come into the light though. Named him Dylan, lol. I also have to say, Catera Beane/Armstrong, (sorry if spelled wrong) your story, I had many laughs. Iâ??m reading Samoneâ??s right now, Cyber Lovers. I stopped when Steph, (not so happy about the name because of Steph Mills, lol so joking) spent the night with Mike (oooh, it rhymes!) and asked him if she could sleep in his bed with him. I always love your stories! Well, please just vote up, so I know Iâ??m somewhat appreciated. Iâ??ve also been thinking about the others too, but I think itâ??s best that I focus at one thing at a time, so I want be saying Amber Logan in a Lauren story. Lolâ??Bye, Love Aariyan. P.S., 6 more days, not counting tomorrow, since Iâ??m acting like itâ??s already tomorrow. Oh, just for further references, Iâ??m on Eclipse now, and have the Twilight movie, so cool! But I had to turn the book in to my library, but Iâ??m counting on reading that and Breaking Dawn this summer from the public library. Yee-hoo! I also read Taken for Granted from Sarah B. Love your jokes. Iâ??m at when Harper went to Kalvinâ??s to tell him about the pregnancy, also!
