Lauren's Love Part 1
Mine mind gathers information, so bear with me. Iâ??m Aariyan from Amberâ??s Heart and How it Happened: Billie Jean & Michael. This is somewhat true. In 1981, a day before Michael turned 23; he went to start getting permanents in his hair. Like the kind he wore in 1982. His hair dresserâ??s name was Lottie Rose. So I decided to change a few things. She also had a daughter, so, yeah, youâ??ll see. Do yâ??all like that I write so many stories? My mind gets over-whelmed at times. Either way, here it goes. Oh, and can my name be used in a few stories too? I also like A Story about Me and Michael. I looked down at my tummy, crying softly. How could this be? How could I be pregnant? Iâ??m so young. Iâ??m still eighteen! I was sitting on the couch, crying. I was about four months pregnant now. The baby was to be due in January. I sat my ice cream down and went into the bathroom. I was barely showing. My waist was a little swollen though. I had a little pudge under my cami. I refused to wear paternity pajamas until I got bigger. I sighed and went to my bedroom. The year is 1979. Iâ??m Lauren London (love the alliteration), Iâ??m turning nineteen, and Iâ??m knocked up. Haha, cry me a river. Itâ??s not that Iâ??m anti-children, itâ??s just that this happened at the wrong time. My â??so-called boyfriendâ? Eric eased me to say yes, now BAM, heâ??s out of our lives: me and the baby. How could an intelligent girl like me fall into such a trap? I work as a beautician at my auntâ??s shop. She has all kind of clients. I woke up, got dressed on some dentist-looking clothes, and rode onto the shop. Aunt Bella already had some grits, eggs, and sausages in a cup. (Me) (in a whiny voice) â??I thought you had some pickles too!â? I have mood swings and eat a lot. (Aunt Bella) â??We ran out Lauren.â? (Me) (in a softer voice) â??Okay.â? I went over to my work station and sat to eat. I have to use a higher up chair when Iâ??m doing hair so I wonâ??t stand too long. Sleep hasnâ??t settled in yet. One thing I just discovered though, when youâ??re pregnant, everything you do seems to double itself. (Aunt Bella) â??Glad you came early Laurie.â? (Me) â??Why?â? I donâ??t think I noticed that. (Aunt Bella) â??Una wanted to get beaded braids.â? (Me) â??Oh great.â? Aunt Bellaâ??s daughter, Melanie, works here also. She was next to me as we were working. (Melanie) â??How you feeling Laurie?â? (Me) â??Stuffed.â? I just finished Unaâ??s hair. Though sheâ??s Russian, her hair braids up easily. She rubbed my stomach and gave me a candy cane for the baby and a dollar. (Me) â??Thanks, Una.â? (Una) â??Youâ??re welcome Lauren.â? She walked out and now I had another client. Around lunchtime the beauty shop started to get warm. I walked over to Aunt Bella, sweating a little. (Me) â??Auntie, can you get me a cold ham sandwich and some lemonade.â? (Aunt Bella) â??Okay. Is it too warm for you?â? (Me) â??Yes.â? (Aunt Bella) â??Took your vitamins?â? (Me) â??No.â? I had to take those gigantic pills with my sandwich. Around one, Aunt Bella pulled me to the side. (Aunt Bella) â??Lauren, I want you to know there is someone who is trying out our place. He wants to get his hair done in Jerri-curls.â? (Me) â??Oh great, yay. Does he want a permanent?â? (Aunt Bella) â??No, just regular ones. He wants to contain his afro.â? (Me) (getting really impatient) â??Who is this third person weâ??re speaking of?â? (Aunt Bella) â??Youâ??ll see.â? She said with a suspicious smile. Now Aunt Bella wouldnâ??t just let me be with anyone under my circumstances, so this must be something â??Greeaaat!â??. Whatever thoughâ??I can really care less. Around one, I really started to get queasy. At first it felt like gas, then cramping, now flat out throwing up. It was such a rush that I had to run to the bathroom. I leaned over the toilet after locking the stall and threw up anything I had ever eaten today. My grits scrambled with eggs and sausage. The ham sandwich and lemonade, with those dooky birds. They really didnâ??t taste like it; they were just so huge and red. Anyways, I knew I was upchucking everything I had in me. it hurt so much, I wasnâ??t sure if this is the puking version of strep throat. Mel came in, wondering if I was okay. (Me) â??Yeah Mel, just this baby wanna do back flips in me.â? I was having a baby girl. As you know, Eric Grant is the father. He justâ?¦does not care to care! She came up and pulled my hair out my face. When I finally flushed, I felt glummer than glumly. My body felt that unstable, so when I got to the sink, I bended down to get some mouth wash. An hour later, Aunt Bella was shutting things down abruptly. Our usual customers seemed to get the motto except me. I was sitting down on the couch again to take a quick break. Thatâ??s when I saw a partition saying â??â??Bellaâ??s Balupiciousâ?? Beauty closed until further notice.â? (Me) â??Whatâ??s that about?â? Mel looked down at me. (Melanie) â??Nothing.â? This was really starting to irk my nerves once again. I started bawling fiercely, my tummy going up and down. I choked on an itch in my throat so much that I ran to the bathroom again and threw up my second set of vitamins all in the bowl. Mel followed me in there and playfully shoved my head in the toilet, trying to make it touch the yucky water. When I finished, I ran out there screaming at her. (Me) â??Mel, Iâ??m a kick your aâ??. Aunt Bella cleared her throat. There she was standing beside someone I wouldâ??ve thought to never look at, especially under these circumstances. Here I hadnâ??t cleansed my mouth and was yelling at my cousin like a mad woman. I immediately shutted up, grinning a little at the floor. Then I remember my stomach. I looked down at my abdomen and ran back into the bathroom. It was one thing for someone so handsome to see you acting childish, but to be pregnant too? No way Jose. I splashed some cold water on my face to see if I was dreaming. Nope. I wasnâ??t. I dried my face off and stared some more. Then I sloshed mouth wash back and forth through my teeth. I spitted it out, and was choking a little. I pinched myself gently to know if this was a realistic dream. Still, nope, I wasnâ??t dreaming. I walked out carefully. More like waddled to my station. Aunt Bella was standing beside my customersâ?? seat with him in it. Looking around the place. The way she always does, Aunt Bella started talking gracefully and softly. She faintly clasped her hand on his shoulder, than when she started talking, she held on his hand. (Aunt Bella) â??Lauren, I would like for you to meet Mr. Michael Jackson. Mr. Jackson has decided to get permanents here. He had chosen us from a phone book. How good is that?â? She had that smile again. I just had a closed smile. Great, a knocked up girl in front of his eyes, now he doesnâ??t even want to look at me. Trust me, once upon a time I was a skin non-waist girl like any other. She looked down at Mr. Michael. (Aunt Bella) â??Michael, this is my niece, Lauren London-Rose.â? She backed up a little and gave us room. I stared at him, he stared at me. I was too sure he would look at my stomach and gag. But he didnâ??t. He stood up like he was going to take my clothes off softly. He rubbed my tummy with a smile. (Michael) â??Howâ??s it going in there little one?â? I looked up in his face and saw a half smirk. I made a squeaky voice also: â??Doing fine bud.â? He rubbed my hand a little more and sat down. I turned him toward the mirror. (Me) â??How long has it been since your last permanent?â? (Michael) â??A while back.â? How long back? I parted his hair and examined his scalp carefully. (Me) â??You seem to have a healthy head. Okay here goes.â? I washed his hair which immediately turned into a puffy afro. (Me) â??Okay, it wouldnâ??t make sense to dry your hair because your hair would dry out. You donâ??t want the tight permanents, so you?â? (Michael) â??No.â? (Me) â??Okay.â? I asked him a few more questions about life itself, he didnâ??t say much. I had yes no answers. (Me) â??Iâ??m going to put this plastic cap over your head, now that you have the rods in your head, youâ??re going to sit under the dryer.â? (Michael) â??What if I donâ??t want to?â? Guess he wasnâ??t so nervous now. I grabbed his wrist and led him by the dryer. Me and my stomach sort of leaned over to put the plastic cap over his hair. He faintly laid his hand on my waist; well what were now my hips. I looked down at him, surprised at how cold his hands were and soft. He had a fearful gaze in his eyes. (Michael) â??I donâ??t want anyone seeing me.â? (Me) â??The doors are locked. Didnâ??t know I was your shield, Michael.â? He grinned. While his hair started drying, I went to go look for Aunt Bella. Didnâ??t find her, so I looked for Melanie, didnâ??t find her either. Such luck! The door was locked; a man and a woman was in here alone; the woman was pregnant by another man; what a pair! Not. I have my own set of keys of course, but still. I was wondering if the pills I was taking made me allergic, usually no. So I went for the temperature, which was 68* now. So I was cool, I wobbled to take another pill and sat down in the area Michael was at. After ten minutes of silence, he talked to me. It was in a near whisper. (Michael) â??Howâ??s it going?â? (Me) â??Me or the baby?â? (Michael) â??Both.â? (Me) â??I think the baby might want to take up ballet or something, because constantly, Iâ??m throwing up. Me, blowing up. Iâ??m just glad my face isnâ??t really like that yet.â? (Michael) â??Tell me about it.â? (Me) â??Youâ??re expecting too?â? Giggling (Michael) â??Ha, no Iâ??m not. Mother had Randy and Jan after me, so I remember a little. Iâ??m just not used to seeing a woman pregâ??. (Me) â??Youâ??re not seeing a woman pregnant. Yeah, me either. Iâ??m not a woman Michael, Iâ??m a girl.â? (Michael) â??Eighteen?â? (Me) â??Turning nineteen this year. Youâ??re too old for me old man.â? (Michael) â??Like youâ??re not too young for me little girl.â? Both of us were smirking. (Me) â??Fine.â? So we waited some more time until his hair finally dried and I unlocked the doors for us to get out. I was going to my car, he stopped me. (Michael) â??My birthday is tomorrow, want to go out with me?â? (Me) â??Wh, where, where Michael?â? (Michael) â??Youâ??ll see.â? He had a closed smile. (Me) â??What, you have my address?â? (Michael) â??Your Aunt Bella gave me all that information.â? I rolled my eyes. (Michael) â??See you at seven?â? (Me) â??Where weâ??re going?â? (Michael) â??I told you youâ??ll see. No need to dress up, I have it for you, and shoes.â? (Me) â??What about me having you dressed up too?â? (Michael) â??No way, I donâ??t trust strangers.â? (Me) â??And I could say the same thing.â? (Michael) â??See you later Lottie.â? Thatâ??s when I began to be called Lottie. He kissed me on the cheek. (Me) â??Bye Michael.â? Me, Aariyan!
