What is love? Is it that feeling of being in peace and happy in the arms of someone? Is it the feeling of being so passionate towards another person? Or is love a punishment? Is it a feeling that could send you running away for your life? I had to learn what love is through one of the hardest ways one could ever imagine. Samone and I have been friends for quite a while now. It was just recently when we became really good friends since we hung out together more often and we were gradually opening up to each other and telling each otherâ??s problems, secrets, desires, and the like. One day she was sharing to me about how happy she was because she has finally found the love of her life. â??Really? Whatâ??s his name? Whatâ??s he like?â? I asked as we sat on the couch that morning. â??Well, heâ??s sweet and heâ??s very loving. I couldnâ??t ask for more. Heâ??s the best guy Iâ??ve ever met. I didnâ??t really know weâ??d end up together but now we are and itâ??s going great!â? She was gleaming and with the way she was describing him, I knew how much she loved him and how much he loved her. â??Oh my god, thatâ??s great. Iâ??m happy for you!â? I hugged her as I said this. â??I want you to meet him.â? She said as I pulled away. â??Sure, why not?â? I smiled at her. She was telling me more about her newfound love and how excited she was. â??I hope you two last. Whatâ??s his name?â? I asked a lot of questions. â??Well, you might not believe this but this guy is not just any other guy. â? She explained. â??Yes, I know how special he is to youâ? I replied. She was giggling as she tried to tell me the manâ??s name. â??Well?â? I asked. â??Michael.â? Samone said. She was blushing as she said this. â??So, when do you want to meet him? I want you to see him for yourself and I want you to tell me what you think about him, after all, youâ??re my best friend now.â? She kissed me on the cheek. â??Aww.. Thanks dear. Well, you go ahead and plan it.â? I said as I stood up. â??I got to go, work awaits.â? I smiled at her and hugged her once more. I made my way hurriedly to work because I knew I was already running late. That nightâ?¦ My cell was ringing endlessly as I got out of the shower. Samone was calling me. I picked up as soon as I dried my hands. â??Hello?â? I said. â??Candice! Heâ??s already agreed to meet! I canâ??t wait! You really have to see him for yourself.â? I knew she was excited and she was probably jumping up and down already. â??Alright alright. Calm down dear. So when is this going to be?â? I asked. â??Tomorrow night! He was planning to have dinner with me and well I asked him if you could tag along.â? She said. â??Are you sure I can? I donâ??t want to disturb the both of you. Itâ??s your date and clearly, Iâ??m not supposed to be there right?â? I explained as I struggled to put my underwear on with one hand. â??Whatever, okay? I need your opinion on him and your opinion is what I trust most.â? She replied. She explained where weâ??d meet up and how it was going to be. â??So, is it clear?â? she asked. â??Wow, what a guy. He sounds like heâ??s a VIP or something I mean canâ??t we just meet up in the restaurant instead?â? I asked. â??We canâ??t. Youâ??ll know why tomorrow.â? She replied. I gave out a deep sigh. â??Well, Iâ??ll see you tomorrow then.â? She said. I bid her goodbye and put the phone down.
