So Lovely(PART6) by Candice
I stared at him for a while. He was handing me a piece of paper. "Write your address here so that they know where to take you. Your clothes will be back tomorrow, just in time before you leave." I didn't know what to say. I hugged him, grabbed the paper and wrote my address on it. I left it on the desk and walked away. As i took 5 steps,I turned around. "Michael." I said. I was a bit nervous. I didn't want to say things I know I'd regret. I let out another smile and said "thank you." I turned back and didn't wait for an answer. I woke up to a voice that seemed to call my name. "Ms. Candice. You'll be leaving in 30 minutes. Your clothes are already inside the car. You may take the new ones with you. Heaton, the bodyguard, will be meeting you at the library." I stood up and hurriedly fixed myself. I washed my face and put on a bit of cologne. The next agenda was to go to the library. Heaton was waiting and he was carrying what seemed like my phone and my wallet. "Hey, why'd you get this?" I asked, a bit irritated. "We didn't want you making calls and we had to check your wallet to make sure if you were a threat or not. Please remember that upon walking out of this house, you are not allowed to talk about what happened to you in this house. Do you understand?" He spoke with full conviction. It was freaky. I nodded my head firmly. He handed me a pen and a paper. "Sign here. It's an agreement on confidentiality. Everything that you know about this house, the staff here ,and other details concerning this event you must promise to keep only to yourself. Once you break this agreement you may face legal charges." He seemed to threatened me. I gave out a sigh and signed the paper. As we were about to leave, I suddenly remembered Michael. I wanted to say goodbye and thank him for all the kindness he has showed me despite not knowing me. I asked Heaton where he was but he only said "That is no longer necessary. Now, we have to go." He was guiding me out of the door and before I knew it, I was already inside a black and heavily tinted car. -------------------------xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx----------------------- The next day was kind of awkward. I was looking for Michael. It was weird! I went through the usual routines I had everyday while thinking of him. Why was he always crossing my mind? I headed downtown to a nearby theatre because that was where I worked. We had rehearsals for the show that was on during Saturdays and Wednesdays. "Where the hell have you been? We've been trying to call you and you haven't been picking up. You weren't even answering my messages!" Hilary was angry. She was my best friend since the day I joined ballet which was approximately 15 years ago. We were both seven and we knew we just had to be best friends. I was fixing my hair into a bun and putting on my dancing clothes and my ballet shoes. "Well I've been busy and I'm sorry if I got you worried okay?" I answered blankly. I was so aware of the contract i had signed the day before. "Busy? Since when? All you do is dance and when you're not inside the theatre how can you be busy?" She kept on asking more and more questions. "I just wanted some time alone okay!" I didn't notice that I was already shouting. Everyone in the dressing room fell awkwardly silent. I stood up and approached Hilary. "Look, I'm sorry. Trust me, every thing's fine and I'm back now so stop asking me these questions." I said with a sigh. She looked at me in dismay. "If you say so." She answered as she walked away. The day ended with the usual routine of me and Hilary getting dinner at a nearby bistro. "You have to talk to me, Candice. I know you're hiding something. We've known each other for so long and I don't think this is the right time for us not to be true to one another. I'm your best friend. You have to trust me." She said as she ate her pasta. I was sipping from my wine goblet and savoring the beautiful taste of red wine. "You know me so well. Let's just say I'm not yet ready to talk about it." I replied with a smile. She shrugged it off. We ate dinner peacefully and parted ways at the bistro. I walked hurriedly back to my house. I wanted to rest and even up to this point I was still thinking about him.
