MJ got here in under 2 minutes but I wasn't surprised. I told him to go around the 
back and climb the tree that led up to my room window. I couldn't let my family 
see him. First, they'd think I  be doing something inappropriate with him. Second, I 
don't think Tarell would let me have a friend over after making him cook dinner. 
MJ was completely breathless by the time he got up to my room. I locked the 
window once he came inside. He sat on my bed and I handed him a water bottle. 
Isat down beside him and told him everything that happened since I left the 
cafeteria with Ray

So I ran all the way here as fast as I could then I called you
I knew you shouldn't have went out with Ray again
I didn't want to but I felt pressured so I said yes (cries)
Don't worry. Everything is going to be alright (hugs me)

I pointed at the healing bruise on his face from where Ray punched him, then he 
lifted his shirt and showed me some bruises from where kicked him. So I showed 
him the hickey's on my neck.

I can't believe Ray. He never used to be this way. It all started when he met you.

Is he trying to say, I turned Ray into a monster?

MJ's smile disappeared when he saw my eyes tearing up.

Cierra, what's wrong?

My eyes started to flood with tears, then MJ hugged me again. This time I actually 
didn't let go for a while. We sat there hugging each other in silence. Finally, I let 
go.

You probably have to go now (gets up)
My parents don't even know I'm gone
So, should I breakup with Ray tommorow?
He probably thinks you already did. But do you want to?
I don't know. I don't think I like him that much anyways

I said it quietly because I didn't want him to hear me, but he did. And in the corner 
of my eye I could see him smiling, which made me smile too.

He opened my window and climbed down my tree. And once again, I knew I made 
a huge mistake.
