Surfing Waves *Prolouge*

Hey guys. Today I went surfing with my friend Tori and I suddenly got this idea that I can't get out of my mind. It also impacts a bit with the movie “Soul Surfer”. Just a bit different.

I looked out into the ocean. These waves were giant. At the age of 16, I knew how to deal with big waves. But not as big as these. I glanced to my right.

Malina was walking my way. “Good luck out there,” she said. “You'll need it.”

I shook my head. “I don't need luck. I need it to be possible,” I replied.

She shot me a glare. “It's obvious that I'll be beating you today. All the other times, you just got lucky.”

“Oh please, Malina. I wouldn't give up even if a shark attacked me at this right moment. I'm a fighter. You should know that,” I said.

“Eve, honey, trust me. You have no chance against a pro surfer like moi,” she said dramaticly.

“I have to go. I'll be doing tons of stuff before I go out there and win,” I said leaving Malina and the waves all by themselves.

“So, do you think you'll actually win?” Michael questioned me.

“Of course. I'm positive,” I replied. Not really. “I'm determined to win.”

Michael is Malina's boyfriend. He's a singer. I've had a crush on Mike since the eighth grade. Malina is one of those girls who was one of the most popular. She was a strong competitor. But she's never beaten me. And that makes her sick.

“Have self belief. Then, you can go out there and shine like always. I'll always be there watching you.” He took my hand, interwining it between mine.

“Thanks.”

“Aloha, Hawaiians! Welcome to the annual Rip Curl surfing tournament! Today's competitors, Alana Garcia, Malina Gonzales, Eve Marie Torres, Jessica Oliver, Melissa Blank, and Layla Birch!”

The announce team's greetings rang in my ears. The tournament was about to begin.
