Darling Nikki (Part 21)
Part 21... -Nicole â??Uh Iâ??m sorry.â? Michael apologized confusing me. â??For what?â? I asked quickly. â??You know, kissing you.â? He answered as if he was embarrassed. It took me a while to answer and I really didnâ??t know what to say back. â??Donâ??t be, I wanted you to.â? I finally answered. He seemed shocked. â??Really?â? He asked. â??Oh come on Mike, you really didnâ??t know that I liked you all of this time?â? I asked knowing that he did. He laughed while scratching the back of his head. â??I couldnâ??t tell. You treat all guys the same.â? He answered dumbly. â??Oh really? I fight for all guys, I allow all guys to hug me, is this right?â? I asked trying to prove a point. â??No, I guess I didnâ??t notice before.â? He replied. It was silent for a while. I didnâ??t know what to say and by the lack of his words he had nothing to say either. He slowly leaned back in to me. When our lips met once again I felt chills all over my arms. He softly kissed me and I felt as if this had to be a dream. But it wasnâ??t which was all the better. I wrapped my arms around his neck bringing him closer to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist bringing me close to him as well. He broke the kiss and stared down at me with a look I wasnâ??t used to. I couldnâ??t really pin point it. The moment became to strange for me and I soon looked away and let go of him. But he didnâ??t let go of me. He rested his head in the crook of my neck and inhaled my scent. Bringing me closer to him if that was possible. I smiled from ear to ear. For the first time in a long time I felt secure. As if his warmth was a sign of protection or something. The next day I decided to actually comb and brush my hair. I pulled it out of my face and carefully picked out an outfit. Okay so I was a total tool. But I didnâ??t care because I was happy. Michael and I stayed on the phone the entire night and fell asleep talking. He woke me up in the morning because we were still on the phone and might I say that was the best fucking alarm clock Iâ??ve ever had. I put on a black T-shirt with Gunâ??s and Roses on the front, my grey skinny Jeans and some chucks. It was simple but fitting. Before walking down the stairs I could hear voices in the kitchen. One of them sounding like my mother. I quickly walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. There stood my mother holding a suitcase. When My aunt and my mother heard me thy both turned around with a blank expression. â??I didnâ??t know youâ??d be up so early. Do you want breakfast dear?â? My aunt asked as if trying to avoid something. â??What are you doing here?â? I asked becoming quite confused. â??Saying goodbye, for good.â? My mother simply replied in a dry tone as if she didnâ??t want to speak to me. â??What do you mean?â? I asked quickly. â??Your motherâ??s getting married, isnâ??t that great news?â? My aunt asked. I froze, feeling an emotion bubbling from the pit of my stomach. â??What the fuck?â? I asked looking over at my mother. â??Well Valerie Iâ??ll be on my way.â? My mother spoke while walking towards the front door. â??What do you mean youâ??ll be on your way? Face me like a fucking adult!â? I screamed puzzling her. She quickened her step leaving the house. She got into her car and I tried my best to get to the door before she locked it. But I was too late. â??Iâ??ve changed!â? I screamed with tears rolling down my cheeks. She didnâ??t look at me but quickly put her seat belt on. â??Iâ??ve changed ma. Iâ??m getting good grades, I quit smoking, I havenâ??t even been arrested. Iâ??ve changed!â? I yelled trying to get through to her. Trying to see some sort of approval in her facial expression. But there was nothing, her face was blank and she ignored me. â??I was never the problem! Youâ??re the problem! Youâ??re the fucking problem!â? I couldnâ??t control my emotions at this point. How could she leave? Moving to God knows where with God knows who. What made me the angriest was that she wasnâ??t taking me with her. She was dumping me off on my aunt for good. â??Iâ??m not fucking disposable!â? I yelled as loud as possible while she backed out of the drive threw. I was blinded by my tears. My aunt came out of the house and before she could touch me I quickly stood up and began to walk to school. I must have looked crazy walking down the hallways because people moved out of my way. I went to my locker and got a notebook out. Before the bell rang I was in class. Everyone looked over at me as if I was a ghost. Because I was usually never on time or quite for that matter. Mr. Coleman started the lesson and I sat there staring down at the ground blankly. The lesson went on and on and I couldnâ??t really keep track of time. The thought of my mother made my blood boil. I didnâ??t deserve to be treated this way. A tear rolled down my cheek and I tried to quickly brush it away but another rolled down and another. Until I was sobbing. â??Ms. Davids?â? Mr. Coleman called out as if he was highly concerned. â??Leave me alone.â? I spoke up trying to control my sobbing. He came over and laid his hand on my shoulder. â??Donâ??t touch me!â? I yelled quickly yanking his hand away. â??Do I need to call your mother to come get you?â? He asked. It was like a trigger word. â??Fuck her! Fuck my mother! Go ahead and call her! Sheâ??s somewhere fucking her new fiancé! Call her!â? I flipped out now turning red. â??Calm down!â? He yelled trying to get me to quite down. â??I wonâ??t calm down! Why should I?! My own mother doesnâ??t want me! Nobody loves me!!â? When I said the last statement I began to sob loudly. Everyone around me backed up as if they were scared. Mr. Coleman called security to come and get me. â??Nobody loves me.â? I mumbled under my breath once again. When the security got there they tried to warn me first. â??Nicole, you need to come with us.â? One of them spoke. â??Fuck you!â? I screamed causing him to jump a little. â??Thereâ??s no reason to act this way.â? They informed me, keeping their distance. â??You donâ??t know the shit I go through! You donâ??t know shit!â? I got up and turned my desk over. Quite dramatic I know but at this point I wanted to break something. One guy tried to grab my arm but I pushed him back with all the strength I had. I saw a guy whisper something to another guy and then he left the room. But I didnâ??t pay too much attention to it. My mind was thinking a hundred things at the same time. â??Everyone out!â? Mr. Coleman yelled and the students seemed more than happy to leave. Everyone stood out in the hallway watching me destroy things. â??Nikki.â? Michael softly spoke causing me to slowly whip my head around. Did they really just go and get him? â??No, I donâ??t want to hear shit Iâ??m done. I canâ??t do this shit anymore.â? I quickly replied while wiping my eyes. â??What happened? Talk to me.â? His calm voice calmed me down. â??No.â? I simply stated looking in an opposite direction. He began to walk towards me and I began to back up. â??A hug isnâ??t going to do shit for me Michael.â? I spoke up. He hugged me anyways while slowly rubbing my back. It definitely helped but I wasnâ??t going to admit that. â??Thatâ??s crazy talk, hugs can cure anything. Now tell me what happened.â? He spoke quietly so that no one at the door could hear. â??Nobody cares about me. My mother doesnâ??t want anything to do with me. My aunt only deals with me because Iâ??m there. My father did but heâ??s no longer around. I tried to pretend as if everything was okay but itâ??s not.â? I rested my head on his chest and my breathing began to level out. â??I care about you, thatâ??s all that matters.â? He simply replied. He was still hugging me tightly and his warmth comforted me greatly. My tears stopped completely. â??I want you to understand something, so listen carefully. Fits are for Kindergarteners, youâ??re in high school. There are many different ways to express yourself so next time letâ??s choose a more mature approach. You have everyone scared to death.â? I couldnâ??t believe he was talking to me as if I was a child. â??Do you understand?â? He asked softly while pulling my chin up to look at him. His expression was soft and he had a smirk on his face. I nodded my head slowly. â??Good, now letâ??s take you down to the office.â? I didnâ??t want to go but before I could protest he grabbed my hand and led me out of the classroom. â??Thanks Mike.â? One of the security men spoke up. Michael nodded his head and continued to walk me. I could already hear the whispers and roomers. I wondered what trouble us being together would cause.
