A Cry For Help *Pt. 6*
Hello, everyone! Now, we all know today is exactly two years, since our angel Michael sadly left this earth, June 25, and I know that he is always in our hearts and that I will love and honor him forever more! Babe, Michael, if you're reading, I just want you to know that I will never forget you, your talent, your generousity, and so much more! Baby, you are amazing and I hope that you are having so much fun in heaven, running around in the grass, playing soccer with Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Diana, and so many others! Love you! Rest in Peace! <3 <3 --------------------------------------------------------------- (Recall) As we were about to kiss, someone opened the door. -In Michael's Point of View- Quickly, we stepped away from one another when someone came through the door. We had frightened, nervous looks on our faces, because we thought it was another teacher or even the principal, and if it was them, we would get in so much trouble! But it wasn't. It was my other students, Lexi and MiKayla. All they were doing were smiling at us. Ava: Lex? Kay? What are yall doin' in here? Lex: Um...Ava? You left your jacket in my brother's car when he was pickin' us up from school. (hands her her blue jacket) Here... Ava: (takes it) Thanks... Lexi: Um, Mr. J? Me: Yes, Lexi? Lexi: Can you excuse us for a moment, we need to talk to Ava about a um...(thinking at the top of her head) science project. Me: Oh, ok. Go on, girls. Lexi: (fake smiles) Uh, huh. Lexi closed the door behind the three of them, so I wouldn't know what they were saying. But I knew that they were talking about Ava and I. I feel so guilty about almost kissing her, but I couldn't help who I fell for. -In Ava's Point of View- Lexi closed the door, so Michael couldn't hear what we were talking about. Lexi: What the hell was that all about? I froze with fear and a blank thought in my brain. Me: W-what do you mean? Kay: Aw, come on, Ava! We saw you guys back away when we came in. Ava: (nervously giggles) Seriously, yall, I don't know what you are talkin' about.. Lexi: (gives a devious smile at Kay) Kay: (gives one back) Uh-oh! I knew what that means when they did that. They had a plan. Lexi: You know what, Kay? Kay: What, Lex? Lexi: It's obvious that we're not getting through to her. Kay: Yeah, but how can we? Lexi: Hmm...I don't know. Maybe we should tickle her to find out. Kay: Agreed! Both of them hastled me and started to tickle me as I was laughing hysterically. They knew I was the most ticklish person in the world, so they used that weakness against me. Lexi: (while tickling me) Tell me what happened! Me: (laughing, not giving up) NEVER! Lexi: Kay, get under her pits! I screamed, "NO!" because my pits were the most ticklish part of my body. Kay forcefully grabbed my underarm and started to tickle. I screamed and laughed, but still refused to confess, but Kay's tickles are so strong, I finally surrenedered and spit it out. Me: Okay! Okay! I confess! Right away, they quit tickling me and begged me for details. Lexi: So, what's the 411? Kay: Yeah, did he get in your pants? Lexi: Did yall get yall's "shabang" on? Kay: Were yall gettin' it on when you were stayin' at his house? They kept asking 100 questions per minute and it was out of control. Me: Hey, guys! No...we didn't have sex. What happened was that after class, he told me to come back after school, so we can talk, and after school, I came back. So, he sat right across from, me he took my hand and said, "You know, Ava, it's just me and you.." and then he asked me for a dance and I agreed, so we danced and then he told me that it felt like he was in a fairy tale. He said he felt like Prince Charming and I was Cinderella. I whispered in his ear that I felt he was the only one who could never hurt me, he touched my cheek and said, "I will never hurt you, Ava.." and then we were about to kiss, but you guys came in. There, I said it! Lexi&Kay: (gasps and squeals) Me: Shh! Guys, he can hear us! Lexi&Kay: Oh, sorry... Kay: OMG, did you guys really dance together? Lexi: And he almost kissed you? Me: How many times do I have to tell you, yes! Lexi: How do you feel about him? Me: (sighs) I walked to one of the lockers and put my back against it, as they followed me. I sat with my head against the locker and looked up at the sky with a smitten smile on my face. Me: (softly) Guys...I think I just fell in love. Girls: (squeals again) Me: Guys, will you keep it down?! Girls: Sorry again... Lexi: Are we getting invited to your wedding? Kay: Yeah, and can I be a Godmother and Lexi could be an auntie? Me: (laughs) I am not getting married or having a baby anytime soon, but once I will, of course! Lexi: OMG, we don't wanna keep your man waiting! Go on, be with him, we're out! Me: Lexi, chill. He's not my man. Kay: Yeah, Lex, he's not her man...yet. (laughs, walks out of the hallway) I rolled my eyes as I laughed at the same time. Those girls are annoying sometimes, but they are my homies and I love 'em like sisters. As I walked back into the classroom, I saw Michael writing something on the blackboard. It was an assignment for tomorrow, followed by instructions for a funny game to review for our state-wide test we had in June. Me: Hey... Michael: (looks at me) Hi. (smiles) Ava, where are you going to stay tonight? Me: I don't know. I'll just call Lexi and ask her if I can sleep at her house, but after school, I guess I'll just go on to that McDonalds on Marlessa Ave. Michael: (in horror) Oh no! There are gang-bangers over there! It is highly dangerous for a teenage girl to hang out over there. You're staying with me. Me: (smiles) Thanks, Michael. Michael: No problem, honey. (kisses my cheek) But, I do have one problem. My family is coming over from Encino for a family get-together, and I just can't leave you in my room while they're here, so I'm gonna have to buy you something nice. Are you ready to meet my family? Once he said, "Are you ready to meet my family?" My stomach curled up on me and I felt nauseous. I was always extrememely nervous about meeting families, so I didn't have a good reaction about it. Me: Umm...I don't mind if I stay in your room. It's fine with me. Michael: No, no, no. Ava, you're going to meet them. Me: I don't like meeting families. They never like me. (looking nervous) Michael: Aww, honey. (strokes my hair back) Don't be nervous. My family is very loving and they'll love you. Besides, my mother is dying to meet you, because I've told her all about you... Me: Oh no. Michael: But I only told her the good things, not the bad things, so you don't have to worry. Me: And what are the good things? Because there are no good things about me...(puts my head down) Michael: No...(lifts my head up) That's not true. I told her that you're smart, you're beautiful, you're funny, you're nice and that...I really care about you. (stares into my eyes) Me: Michael...(gets closer to him) I lo-- Just when I was about to tell him I loved him, I was cut off because the stupid phone rang! UGH! I finally had courage to tell him how I feel and then it all gets ruined. Michael: Excuse me for a moment. Telephone. (walks to the phone) Hello?....Oh, hey, Randy! How are you?...Oh, you're already in Santa Barbara?....Oh, Joesph has the key to the house?...Okay, I'll see you once I get home...okay, bye-bye. (hangs up the phone) Me: Who was that? Michael: My brother, Randy. Look, we need to drive over to Macy's before we stop at home to get you in something more formal, so we might as well head out now, because my family is already at the house. After we got to Macy's and blah, blah, blah, we drove over to Michael's house, (btw, I put my dress on in the car), the nervousness inside of me increased and got tenser and tenser for every house that we passed. What if his family doesn't like me? What if his mom thinks I'm not good enough? All of these concerns were playing non-stop in my head. I was so nervous, I felt as if I was going to ask Michael to pull over by a ditch or something, so I could throw up, but good thing, Michael told me to take a sip of some ginger ale, so my stomach wouldn't get so queasy, and it worked some. As we pulled up to his driveway, my stomach was doing numerous backflips and I felt something coming up my throat. Suddenly, I regurgitated on Michael's glove compartment and also on my new dress shoes. Crap! Michael ran out of the car and seconds later, he came out with a towel and clorox wipes. He cleaned my shoes off and kept kissing me on my forehead, as I kept saying, "I'm sorry, Michael. I'm sorry." but he kept telling me that I didn't have to apologize. I was so nervous that I vomited. That never ever happened to me, but I guess I was so nervous. Before I knew it, I saw a tribe of people run out to the car from the house. I guess it was his family. He never told me had a big family. Dang! I heard this woman, say to me: Woman: Are you alright, sweetheart? Then she came up to me and gave me a gentle, loving hug. She felt as if I knew her all of my life, even though I didn't even know who she was. Her hug reminded me of my mother's hugs, when she cared about me, before her stupid husband came along. Me: Yes, I'm okay. (smiles at her) Woman: Good...Sweetie, I am Michael's mother. You must be Ava. He has always talked about you. (smiles) Me: (giggles) Hi, Mrs. Jackson. Michael's mother: Aww, sweetie. You can always call me Katie. Me: Hi, Katie. Nice to meet you. Katie: Same here, honey bunny. Katie was a very nice woman. She completely reminded me of my mother, before she married Harold. She was nurturing, caring, loving and generous. All of us walked inside the house and Michael started to introduce the rest of the family to me. Michael: Everyone, this is Ava Anders. She is my student, but also my very good friend. Ava, this is my family: you've already met my mother, Katherine, but these are my brothers, Jermaine, Jackie, Tito, Marlon, and Randy; these are my sisters, Janet, LaToya and Rebbie, and this is my father, Joseph. Me: (shyly) Hi. (smiles, waves) Family, except Joseph: Hi. (smiles back) All of the family, except his father, hugged me and had a conversation with me, and I felt really open around them. They made me feel comfortable around them and I wish they were the family that I never really had. As I was having a conversation with the girls, I spotted Michael smiling at me, and laughing at me as I became confused with the girls as they were talking about hair and makeup, but still I pretended that I knew what they were talking about. I saw Joseph giving me an evil stare all the time, and it made me very uncomfortable, so I went up to him to try to get to know him. Me: Hello, you must be Mr. J's father. Nice to meet you, sir. (holds out my hand for a handshake) He rudely refused my handshake offer. Joseph: Look. I'm going to tell you this. I don't like you, and I think you're having sex with my son.. WHAT?! TBC...
