Our "Thing" Part 28
Dedicated to Mjsite and Michael Jackson. -norah News on Blaire's death spread like hot fire. Everyone was going on and on about Michael Jackson's outspoken, flamboyant ex who so mysteriously died. It was crystal clear what really happened. She commited suicide. The media didn't have to know all that. It had been a week later and Rae was at Kendall's condo which he shared with his cousin the pornstar. She was staring into space rather than watching T.V. Kendall was watching her closely while whispering on the phone. Kendall: It's been 30 minutes and she hasn't moved a muscle, Mel. Melinda: The guilt. She should be locked up for killing Blaire. I bet it was over that sexy tattoo Blaire had. Kendall: I don't know. If she killed her, why hide in the same town? Melinda: It's all so wierd. Michael hasn't been seen for days. They both did it. Kendall: I hate how Carl "Ive still got a crush on Rae" Davids isnt allowing us to print all this. We are losing cash. They chatted some more and Kendall was clearly oblivious to the fact Rae heard everything. Blaire's body was still at the mortuary and Rae felt she had to do something. Blaire never said much about her family and Michael, her so called everything, disappeared. She hadn't heard from him for days. She even tried to look for him at his favorite places and nothing. Kendall tried his best, but Rae knew her presence was annoying his cousin. Her colleuges thought up only the worst case senarios concerning Rae's involvement in Blaire's death. Carl was really nice to her through it all. *3 days later* That day was the first time Rae went to work since Blaire died. All the funny looks weren't bothering her much. It was right before lunch when Sierra stormed in. Sierra: Mr.Davids wants you in his office. Rae:*carries on writing* Fine. Sierra: Now, murderess! Rae: I'll pretend that didn't hurt. Sierra: How do you live with yourself? You took away another woman's life. Rae: Why take all the credit for something Blaire did all by herself? Sierra:*gasps* She killed herself? Rae: The boss wants to see me. Rae couldn't help shake the feeling that Carl could also think she actually killed Blaire. It was her up against everyone else in the building. Meanwhile, Michael was at a restaurant with his friend Brooke Shields. His disguise was convincing enough. Brooke: You've barely touched your food. Michael: I'm not hungry and it was your idea we eat out. Brooke:*sighs* I thought you could do with some air. Michael: I'm sorry it's just- Brooke: It's okay. *puts her hand over his* I'm there for you. Michael:*clears throat and slowly moves hand away* Thanks. Brooke: You know, it's not your fault. Michael: Then who's is it? Brooke: Michael, open your eyes. If Raeleen didn't come back into your life after divorcing Perry Kellman, Blaire would be alive. Michael: No matter where Rae and I stand romantically, she's still my best friend. And don't think I'll let you say just about anything when it comes to her. Brooke: But Michael- Michael:*getting up* Brooke: What are you doing? Michael: What I should've done ages ago. At the office, Rae was sitting in Carl's office and he was staring at her intently. Carl: How are you? Rae: Wonderful. Carl: *raises brow* Will you have fully recovered in three weeks? Rae: Hopefully. Why? Carl: I want you to go to Africa only if you can. For two years. This could be the highlight of your career as an investigative journalist. Everything will obviously be paid for, I just need a yes from you. Rae: Of course, I'll do it. Carl: Think about it. Rae: I have. Carl: I'll let you think about it. Are you busy tonight? Rae: Carl- Carl: Forget it. Rae:*smiles* I'm not busy tonight. Carl: *smiles back* Rae was actually excited about her date with Carl. Little did she know she'd see two people she never thought she'd cross paths with. TBC........
