Summertime. part 1.
Hey guys, its Holly here, :D The cesarean due date for the babies is the 19th of January, so I'm going to write as much as I can possible! Im going to give this writing thing another crack hahah. 1960. Martin: I'm leavin', I can't take this anymore! Betty: You can't leave! You have a baby to support! Lord knows I can't look after her and provide a livin' all by myself! Martin: So long, Beatrice. And with that, Martin slammed the front door, bags in each hand. Betty collapsed into a crying heap on the floor. She was scared, for her child, and for herself. Baby Summer crawled over to her mother, awoken by the shouting. She whimpered and pulled gently on her mother's hair, as if to gain her attention. It worked. Betty faced her precious little girl, with tears in her eyes. Summer had beautiful olive skin, brown curls, and big green eyes, with the most gorgeous dimples. Betty could not help but smile, even if only slightly, whenever she saw her baby. Summer was certainly special. She had learned to bottle feed herself at only 8 months, which is fairly unusual amongst babies. She had such a personality! She was funny, happy, bubbly, yet mysterious. There was something about Summer that even her mother could not comprehend. Something that wasn't common with most people. Betty gave in and grabbed Summer in a warm hug. Betty: Everything will be just fine, child. It'll be just you and me for a while. Summer: (smiles) Five years later, 1965. Betty's sister Clarissa, held Summer, both waiting desperately in the Emergency Room. After three hours of tension, the doctor slowly walked into the room. Clarissa passed a tired Summer to Betty's best friend, Katherine. Clarissa approached the doctor, anxiously. Clarissa: Please... Doctor: (shaking his head) I'm afraid the heart attack was too devastating, she has an hour, maximum. I'm so sorry. Clarissa: (whispering) Can we see her? Doctor: Of course. Judging by the look on Clarissa's face, Katherine understood. She wiped a tear away and handed Summer to her aunt. The three girls slowly walked into the room, where a bedridden Betty breathed slowly through an air machine. Clarissa: Now, Summer, you have to be strong for your momma, alright? (her voice breaking at the end) Summer: Okay aunty Cwa-wissa. She put Clarissa on the floor and she walked to her mom, who's face brightened as usual, when she saw her daughter. Summer climbed into the hospital bed with her mom. Summer: Hi mommy. What's wong? Betty: I'm afraid I'm very ill, honey pie. Summer: Oh.... When will you be better, mommy? Betty: You see, child, when people get very sick, sometimes they die. Do you know where people go where they die, honey? Summer: (shook her head) Betty: They go to a beautiful place. That place is heaven. It's where God and the angels look after the good people who have died. Summer: Will you die momma? Betty: (smiling peacefully) Yes baby. You have to promise me something though... Remember that I'll always be here with you, in spirit, and that your momma loves you very much. Don't ever forget that, you hear me? Summer: (wipes a tear away) Yes mommy. I love you too. Summer and her mom shared a very special hug. For it was their last. Soon after, Betty died peacefully in her sleep. Summer went to stay with her aunt Clarissa for a while. But there was a major issue. Aunt Clarissa wasn't ready to be a mom. She didn't have a lot of money, and she didn't know how to look after Summer. The next day, Clarissa went to visit Katherine and her kids. Clarissa: I... I'm just so scared. I don't know what to do! Katherine: Oh sugar, let me take her off your hands, just until you're able to get things in order. I'm not letting you put her up for adoption. Clarissa: But you have your hands so full, it would be too much for you to handle. Katherine: I'm not saying there won't be sacrifice. But it would be much less than what you'd be dealing with. Clarissa: Oh, alright... So little Summer went to stay with the Jackson's for a while, although she didn't know it, this was the start of something magical. To Be Continued... I really hope you guys liked it, Im sorry if its a little sad, but I really needed to set the mood and scene hahah. Comments or votes would be lovely. Holly:)
