Me: *groans* Mom leave me alone!
Mom: *takes a sip of her wine* Such a bitch for a 12 year old.
Me: *growls* I'm 13, and you're the bitch!
I took my mom's wine and poured it all over her.
Mom: Get to your room, *yells* NOW!
Me: I was planning on it!
I ran to my room and slammed the door.
Me: *screams into my pillow*
Where is my Dad when I need him?

Oh hello there, I'm Halle Connelly. I'm 13 years old (Not 12 as my mother would say). I live in Encino, California. My life is like hell. No, no, my life IS hell. My mom is a drunk, and my dad is never home. I love my dad dearly though. He's in the music business, so he's always out at the studio managing his music groups and what not. When he's home my life is a million times better. I just wish he was here now. I need him.

I stared out the window and quietly sang to myself. I heard my mom going on her drunken rampage downstairs and I sighed. Does she ever stop? I opened my window and climbed out onto the roof. I laid down and looked up at the starry sky. I started to close my eyes when I felt something hit my foot. I jolted up and looked down at my yard. I saw my friend Tammi standing there.
Tammi: Hiya there!
Me: Tammi! What in the world are you doing here?!
Tammi: My boyfriend broke up with me.
Tammi climbed up the nearest tree and leaped over onto the roof. She joined me in laying there staring at the stars.
Tammi: What's bugging you?
Me: Mom.
Tammi: Oh, she drinking again?
Me: Doesn't she always?
Tammi: True, true. What's she drinking tonight? Margarita? Cosmopolitan?
Me: *giggles* Why you pick those drinks?
Tammi: *shrugs her shoulders* I dunno, it's what my mom drinks.
Me: Nah, she's drinking a bottle of wine.
Tammi: A whole bottle?
Me: Mhm.
Tammi: Damn, she need some help!
Me: Yes indeed.
Tammi: So what else brings you to the roof tonight?
Me: The stars are nice.
Tammi: *squints her eyes* Yeah, they are.
Me: *raises an eyebrow* You really gotta squint? You blind or something?
Tammi: Nope, just thought squinting would add a little excitement to it. *giggles*
Me: Oh jeez, *laughs* Hm, what else can we do.
Tammi: Make a wish!
Me: You serious?
Tammi: Uh duh! C'mon, you do the honors.
Me: Alright, but if you don't like the wish-
Tammi: It's my problem, I know. Just wish!
Me: *closes my eyes* Okay, I wish that we the men of our dreams will come find us.
I opened my eyes and looked at Tammi.
Me: That good?
Tammi: Amen sister!
We laughed and did our handshake.
Tammi: *gasps* Oh my! Look at the time!
Me: You're not even wearing a watch.
Tammi: *looks at her arm* You know, you're right. *laughs*
Me: Just get going before your parents notice you're gone.
Tammi: Okay then, Mom. *giggles*
Me: *laughs* Bye.
Tammi: Bye!
Tammi climbed down from the roof and ran off back to her house. I sat up and look at the house next to mine. I saw a kid over there laying on the roof and I think he was singing. I heard someone singing. And this voice was beautiful, the most gorgeous voice I've ever heard. Who is it?
