Our "Thing" Part 23
Heyyaz hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!! This goes out to Michael Jackson and everyone on Mjsite. -norah After failing to tell Michael what was up for two days, Rae was sorta obligated to go to the clinic with Kendall for the test. While driving there, Rae had to listen to Diana Ross because that is supposed to be soothing. Kendall: You're looking at all this from a negative perspective. Think of all the fun you and your baby will have doing whatever it is babies do. Rae: Teething isn't fun. Neither is waking up in the middle of the night or childbirth. Kendall: You should've told Michael. Rae: Nothing is certain yet so I don't wanna worry him. Kendall: Oh so you're dying and you'll wait till you're dead to tell him because you don't wanna worry him. Rae: That's different. After a few more minutes, they got there. The clinic was full of sick people and pregnant ladies. They just happened to sit next to a teenage girl with a baby. Rae: *whispering to Kendall* Stop staring! Kendall: *whispering back* You stop staring! The teenaged girl simply smiled to herself not taking her eyes of the baby. Teenaged girl: It's okay. She is mine. Had her last year at 14. Kendall: Your folks must've been real mad but I'm sure your baby daddy was more understanding.*looks at Rae* Rae: Please don't mind my ever so talkative boyfriend. Seeing mature teenagers frightens him. Teenaged girl: I get that alot. I'm Lola by the way. Rae: Well I'm- Lola: I know who you guys are. Raeleen Green and Kendall Bradshaw. I love your magazine. Kendall: Thank you. New issue comes out today. Rae: *rolls eyes* So, Lola how did people react when you were first pregnant if you dont mind me asking. Lola: My parents naturally were upset but got over it. They advised me not to get an abortion unlike Devon. Kendall: The father of your baby, I assume. Lola:*nods slowly* He hated me. He said he'd stay with me if I had an abortion but I couldn't do it. So he broke up with me. The hardest part was he moved on so quickly even when Helene was born he wouldn't do a thing for her or me. Rae: Devon's a jerk who didn't deserve you. Lola: Thank you but he's a boy at the end of the day . But I'm glad I have Helene with me.*smiles at baby* When it was Rae's turn, she got up and gave Lola and Helene one last look. Lola seemed content but clearly wasn't during the months she had to carry the baby. Kendall: I know you think Michael will be like Devon but he won't. Rae:You heard what she said, he's a boy at the end of the day. Kendall: There's a big difference between teenaged boy and fully grown man. Rae: You're right. The reaction gets worse with age. Kendall: I give up. The running of the tests seemed to take forever and with every passing minute, Rae felt as if the baby thing was becoming more real. Waiting for the results seemed gruesome. The doctor sat there with the papers staring intently. Kendall: Uh doct- Doctor: I'm so sorry. Rae: No! *bursts into tears* Kendall: Would you please stop crying, babe? Doctor: Her reaction is perfectly normal, Mr. Bradshaw. I could give Ms. Kellman some pills to speed up the process of becoming pregnant. Rae: *stops crying* So that means- Doctor: I know you and your partner here were trying hard for a baby but take this as a test for the real thing. You both are young so having a baby in the near future shouldn't be a problem. Rae: *trying not to sound too happy* Well, you're right. What a bummer. Anyway thank you. Doctor: You can keep the papers and take these pills for the dizzyness. Minutes later, Rae and Kendall were at a Mexican restaurant celebrating. Kendall: Why did we have to pretend we were dating? Rae:So that if there was a baby then I'd look like I had some form of stability. Kendall:Which could've been easily obtained from Michael. Rae And he never has to find out. Things were going extremely well until a week later. Rae got into the apartment and found Michael reading the test results she got from the clinic. Rae:What's that you're reading? Michael:You tell me. Rae:Look Michael, I didn't tell you because I didn't want to worry, that's all. Michael:The absurdity of being you.I don't think I could handle it. Rae:What do you mean? Michael:How could you keep something this big from me? We're meant to be best friends or was that all in my head? Rae:sighs* I'm sorry. Michael:You are so not. Rae:Try to understand this from my point of view. I was very scared of what could've been and thought I was sparing you all that. I know that's not the best explanation in the world but- Michael:Didn't you trust me enough? Rae:Either way there is no baby. Michael:I'll take that as a no. In days, the tension had definently watered down between them but then something else came up. While slumming in her office, Rae was watching the Emy Show which was interrupted by a news reporter popping up on the screen. Reporter:Last night at the Red Bench Nighclub, Michael Jackson's girlfriend Blaire collapsed. TBC.
