Tough Love Part 12
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey everyone. Hoped you liked part 11. Thereâ??s not much more for me to say so Iâ??m starting with no hesitation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ When we got into the building, the vibe had a quiet-tense thing about it. The crowd was captivated in the performerâ??s words. We sat at a table in the back, which was fine by me. I also appreciated the fact that the room was dark; other than the strobe lights. There were five of us and two chairs at each table. The tables were round and medium-sized. Either way, we were going to be a little squished. We were seated like this: Michael in the center (of course), Danielle was on the left side of him, Pat was on his right. I was sitting on the end by Danielle, and Sherry sat by Patricia. Once we were settled, Pat and Dani were still super-energized. What they were feeling was showing. The thing is Patricia almost took it to another level. I saw her whisper in Michaelâ??s ear twice. The first time, he looked like he might blush. The next time, he giggled again. I also noticed Michael was talking to Sherry a little. Not that I was jealous. Sheâ??s quiet in her own right. Even then, he smiled at her too! I donâ??t know why it took my period this long to announce itself being here for the month, but it finally did. I noticed the slime feeling in my panties. I knew for a fact that I had no pads or any helpful things on me. I hunched over, wrapping my arms around me in unexplained pain. â??Whatâ??s wrong, Lyric?â? Michael asked me. I looked up, grateful at his recognition of me; even if I was hurting. â??Nothing,â? I managed to utter. Then I got a hold of Danielleâ??s arm and held it firmly. I got up holding her arm. I was very grateful when she had Sherry and Patricia to follow. After asking an employee where the restrooms were, I half-walked/half-lunged my way in the restroom and locked it once all of us were in the bathroom. â??Whatâ??s wrong?â? Patricia asked. â??I believe it should be nearly obvious. Somethingâ??s wrong with her tummyy!â? Danielle was right. My question is, will they be able to help me once I told them. â??Itâ??s my period, you guys. It took it all day plus yesterday to announce itself being here. I donâ??t have any pads on me. I really needa know if any of you have anything.â? â??I used my last pad two days ago,â? was Danielleâ??s answer. â??Iâ??m empty,â? was what Sherry said. The only person who hadnâ??t answered me was Pat. â??Well?â? Danielle asked. â??I got something. Itâ??s just not a pad.â? â??Then what is it?â? I was impatient. She slipped something out her jacket pocket. It was a tampon! â??No. I canâ??t use that.â? â??You just put it in yourâ??â? â??I know Patricia, and thatâ??s exactly why I donâ??t want to use it.â? â??You said you had nothing else.â? â??Iâ??m not bleeding badly. Itâ??s my first day.â? â??You need to try it.â? â??No!â? â??I dare you,â? was Danielle challenging me? â??Nope.â? I crossed my arms, acting stubborn like them, and turned from them in a dramatic way. â??Well, I quadruple dare you.â? That was Sherryâ??s offer. â??Fine.â? I snatched the crazy thing from Patriciaâ??s hands and went to the biggest stall. I unwrapped the plasptic paper and trashed it. â??You didnâ??t have this thing in its box. Are you sure I just put it you know where?â? I yelled to Patricia. â??Yeah. Take it out once you get home. Make sure you buy some pads BEFORE you get home, too.â? I held the thing in my hands, disgusted by the end of the tampon having a piece of string with a loop on it. It was so disturbing. I wrapped the tampon in some tissue, stuck it deep in my shortsâ??s pocket, and walked out the stall. â??That was fast,â? Danielle said. â??That was too fast,â? Sherry said. â??Thatâ??s because I bet she never used it,â? Patricia was right. When everyone looked at me, I said â??Well, she is right. Iâ??ll be fine until we leave.â? I was grateful when a woman was approaching the womenâ??s restroom just as we were leaving. Once we got back to the table, Michael had five smoothies seating on the table for us. It was apparent he was drinking his. â??Wow, ladies, I didnâ??t know it took all of you to go to the bathroom together. Seems like yâ??all was having an adventure.â? â??We had things needing to be taken care of.â? Patricia said with a giggle. â??Ohh,â? he said in response, and that was that. A major issue about going to a place where entertainment is the theme is that out of nowhere, the person whoâ??s hosting the show that night as for an open mike to anyone who wants to read, and then your friends pressure you to go up. â??Come on, Lyric. For me?â? Michael asked. â??Yeah, for Michael!â? All the girls chimed in together, of course! The host, a man with a dorky mask onâ??you know, the glasses and nose with the moustache attachedâ??pushed the microphone to me, and the two strobe lights shined on our table. I must say, that was a mistake because Michael was at our table, and the crowd would go crazy for him. Not me. It seemed like the crowd got the memo, though, when the strobe lights were strictly on me. I didnâ??t know what I wanted to sing! The man still had the microphone in my face and my friends, plus Michael, was still cheering me on. Fine, I thought, and took the mike in my hands, and walked up like I was some fierce diva. I went up to the drummer and whispered if he could play â??Rock Steadyâ? singed by Aretha Franklin. The pianist asked him what I said, and quickly is said â??Rock Steady; Aretha Franklin.â? He knew what I meant, so he and the drummer started the music up slowly. Here was my moment. I was under all these lights for once, and as the music rolled in, I embodied it, and I was no longer nervous. What I had was a licker of attitude, and I knew what table I was going to address throughout the song. I started moving my hips, then â??Rock steady baby, thatâ??s what I feel now,â? came out. Some people who knew the song was my background singers. After the first verse, everyone was clapping to the beat. I did a lot of twirling and shoulder moving. My head was going round and round. Basically, I felt I was being goofy on stage. Not once did my background singers miss a beat. Thank god! When the song would usually end, the band kept playing, so I kept dancing. At a great time, I ended the song the way youâ??re supposed to close a song. Once I officially stopped, there was silence for three seconds, then everyone including my table of friends, and Michael (I donâ??t what he is to me, yet), were on their feet, yelling and screaming, applauding me. I bowed gracefully like Iâ??ve seen Michael and his family did so many times. â??Thank you,â? I said into the microphone. I gave it to the man who made me get onto the stage in the first place, and then went down to my table. â??Good job, Lyric.â? Michael was out of his seat, arms open to hug me. I went straight to his arms, and hugged him like a dear friend. Right off the back, I noticed his grip was a bit more firm than I was expecting. So I had his neck in-between my arms tighter, also. â??Just good?â? I teased when he let me go. â??Or you could just say â??Thank youâ??.â? He teased back as he looked at me with a smile. â??Thank you, Michael.â? â??You are welcome, Lyric.â? â??Well, give me a hug, too.â? Sherry said. I must say, I was sad to leave. After the crowd settled, we listened to soothing music and I really got to clear my mind. Everyone was chilled, evidently. I was still sitting on the very end; but I didnâ??t care. I was living for the moment. I had a little boost of confidence and a better impression from Michael. That was all that mattered to me. â??Lyric, what time did your dad said you have to be home?â? Michael asked me once the room got dark again. â??Um, nine-fifteen. Yeah, nine-fifteen. I remember the time seemed so odd.â? â??Itâ??s eight-forty eight now. We need to hustle.â? â??My dad wonâ??t care.â? â??But you have to get ready for tomorrow morning.â? â??Whatâ??s tomorrow morning,â? Danielle asked. â??He means I have school,â? I said, knowingly. â??Yeah, we should really go.â? Sherry said. â??Will you tell your family you met me?â? Michael asked with a grin. â??Heck yeah! Thatâ??s why I want a picture of you and me, too. I need proof.â? â??Alright.â? So, after we left, Sherry went in her home first since she was picked up last. She didnâ??t go without her picture, though. It was taken on her porch. Before Patricia got out the car, she got out the car, after saying bye to Michael in a dreamy way, of course, she spelled dap. â??Whatâ??s dap supposed to mean?â? I asked, confused. â??Dap, as in leak, as in blood.â? â??Oh yeah, thank you for reminding me.â? â??No prob.â? Before Danielle got out the car, her hug looked like a choke hole. â??Michael, I need to get something from the store real quick.â? â??Which store?â? â??Just a store as long as itâ??s not a convenient one or grocery store.â? â??Gotâ??cha.â? When we got to a small drugstore, Michael asked if I had money on me. â??Yeah, I have enough. Thanks for asking.â? â??Yeah,â? he said. It didnâ??t take me long to find the pads and an extra bottle of pain pills that I needed. Michael took one look at what was in my bag, chuckled to himself, and then drove us home, which wasnâ??t that far away. â??Nine-nineteen. Not bad.â? Clarence declared as we walked in. â??Itâ??s my fault, Dad. I needed to get some things.â? â??Well, I hate that youâ??re about to go to bed, and it seems like I havenâ??t seen you all day.â? â??Thatâ??s fine, Michael can tell you about the highlights of tonight. Love you, Dad.â? I said as I hugged him and kissed his cheek. â??See ya, Michael.â? â??Yeah, bye.â? I closed and locked my room door. I must admit, I undressed slowly. I was thinking on what happened this evening. I looked in my mirror, where I only took off my shirt, my dadâ??s tie, and shoes. I must say I didnâ??t look too bad. Once I finished showering, I felt so much betterâ??being clean, I mean. I felt refreshed and alert. I didnâ??t want to go to sleep, yet. As I was going down the stairs, Michael was going up. I stopped on the stair I was, turning to where he was going. Thank you Jesus, Iâ??m glad he or my father didnâ??t see me do that! I made a sandwich and had something to drink as Clarence was watching TV. When I went back upstairs to my room, the bathroom light went off. I didnâ??t wana seem like I was spying, so I swiftly pushed my room door up. When Michael went in the Manâ??s Room, I hurriedly went in there to brush my teeth again so I could wear my forsaken retainers. Right before I went in my room for the last time tonight, I looked in the Manâ??s Room. The light was still on. I heard some rummaging. I knew it was Michael. I took a deep breath and swallowed much of my pride. I felt I was denying something that was within me. Before things could get even more difficult, I made much noise getting from my door to my bed. I tripped over my own feet! I just hope this vacant-weird feeling will leave me soon, and very! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey everyone! I know, this one was super long! I actually surpassed 2,000 words writing this part. I really had to get motivated to finish this part. My motivation was Michael, of course. But I also had to watch certain things with his lady friends. Of course I was a little jealous, so that helped me, lol. Anger helps me sometimes. Vote for me, please. I put my heart into it, of course. -Aariyan *8D ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~
