Du Schweigst -Three-
*Part drei =) -Lexa* "So, you see, it wasn't completely my fault." Valerie raised an eyebrow and grimaced. "Not your fault?" Michael sighed. "Okay, maybe it was mostly my fault. But you're still my daughter. And even though I just figured that out today, I'd still like to be a part of your life...that is, if you'd let me." Valerie looked down at her feet, biting her lip nervously. "Maybe...I'll think about it." She looked up and saw him copying her movements, biting his lip as well. "I guess I got that nervous tactic from you." She smiled slightly, glad to feel the awkward feeling lifting. "I guess so." He chuckled. "Good news, she's not mad." Amelia announced as she walked in, throwing the phone back to Valerie. "But she does want you home by next week." Valerie groaned and leaned back in the chair. "How are we gonna get a plane ticket by then? We barely have money after you spent most of it on clothes." "Hey! I had to do something while we're here." Amelia defended herself, shrugging. "Where do you two live?" Valerie looked at her dad and raised an eyebrow. "Van Nuys. Cali. Why?" "Since this was the last concert of the tour, I'm heading back home. You two can come back with me. Consider it a way of apologizing." Amelia and Valerie looked at each other and smiled. Valerie looked at him and nodded. "Thanks...dad." * "This is so huge!" Valerie laughed, something she hadn't done in a while, and rolled her eyes. "Of course it is, Ame. He is, as you put it, a legend with a bunch of #1 hits." Michael stiffled a laugh and sat down, watching the two fight. "I never said that!" Amelia blushed slightly and tried to hide her face but Valerie saw it and raised an eyebrow. "Well, Ame, it seems like you have a little crush on my dad, don't you?" Michael smiled. Dad...the words ran through his mind. He'd never think he would be a father. He was happy that he has a child on the way but he never thought he was a father at such a young age. He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Amelia stomp off to the end of the plane, clear embarrassment on her face. Valerie sighed and sat down next to him. "You know...I don't really talk that much." He raised an eyebrow. "Why's that?" "Well...don't take this the wrong way, okay? It was just...I felt completely empty all the time. Whenever Ame would talk about 'finding my father' I felt emptier, like I was missing something, right? And...I guess I never thought that if I ever did find my father...I would be happier. I always thought I would get worse but...I guess I was wrong." She smiled to herself, seeming lost in her thoughts as she stared out the window. "You'd be a very good poet, you know that?" Valerie turned to him and narrowed her eyes. "This is a serious conversation!" But she felt the corners of her lips lift slightly, though she fought hard to hide her smile. "But I am...nah, forget it." "A singer?" He suggested. Valerie bit her lip and looked down, embarrassed. "Yeah. All of my songs though...seem, pretty dark." "That's what makes them good though. You gotta put your feelings into the song to make people love it. I should know." She snorted. "Of course you would know. You're the most famous guy on the face of the earth." She looked up at him and smiled. "You know...I'd like to know more about your past. I'd like to know more about my dad." He smiled at her and nodded, leaning back. "Alright. Where do you want me to start?" She put her hands under her chin and thought for a second before looking back at him. "Life in Gary. And go forward from there." "Well, it all started in 1963..." *The next part will be up soon...hopefully -_- Haha Hope you all enjoyed =) -Lexa*
