The Jackson's Story (part 1)
Note that the first part of this story may not be true but I do not know exactly how Joseph and Katherine met. 1947 â??Come on Katherine! We got to get home!â? Abigail yelled. â??Iâ??m coming Abigail!â?Katherine shouted back to Abigail. These two girls were best friends who were walking home from a night-on-the-town in East Chicago, Indiana. Both girls were 17 at the time. Katherine was a very short girl but very beautiful. She had the prettiest brown eyes you ever saw. But very unfortunately she had polio when she was a child, but recovered from it. But the polio left her with a limp. Abigail was taller than Katherine but was still short. She had such gorgeous silky hair. â??Katherine! Look who it is!â? Abigail whispered to Katherine. â??Who?â? Katherine whispered back. â??Look up ahead! Itâ??s Joseph Jackson!â? Said Abigail trying not to act too excited. Joseph Jackson was a tall man and was very handsome. He was an amateur boxer. Joseph was 18 years old at the time. He was wondering the same thing as the two girls. â??What do I say?â??. Finally they were in speaking distance. â??Well whatâ??s two beautiful girls like you doing out so late?â? Joseph asked. â??We were just on our way home.â? Abigail said nervously. â??Well I hope to see you girls again.â? He said as he kissed Katherineâ??s hand. The two girls giggled softly. â??Good Bye.â? Katherine said. â??But wait, I donâ??t know your names.â? Joseph said. â??My name is Abigail Sayers and her name,â? Abigail said as she pointed to Katherine, â??is Katherine Scruse.â? â??Well Katherine and Abigail I hope to see you again. Maybe at the next dance.â? â??Ok well goodbye.â? Katherine said. Abigail and Katherine walked home giggling. The next day all the girls could talk about was meeting Joseph Jackson. 2 weeks later The two girls had just been to the dance but Joseph wasnâ??t there. The next day at school they had found out that Joseph had gotten married. Katherine was heartbroken. She had thought that Joseph may have been the one for her. 3 weeks later Katherine and Abigail were walking down the street on a fine afternoon when they heard a car coming. The car pulled over next to them. Joseph was in the car! â??Joseph! What are you doing here?â? Katherine exclaimed. â??I got divorced.â? Joseph said. From then on Joseph and Katherine started seeing each other very often. They started dating after awhile. 1949 â??Katherine weâ??ve been seeing each other for awhile now and I really like you.â? â??I really like you too, Joseph.â? â??Well you know how I feel about you right?â? â??Of course! And I feel the same way.â? â??Wellâ?¦ I was wonderingâ?¦â? â??Yes Joseph.â? â??Will you marry me?â? â??Oh! Yes!â? On November 5, 1949 Joseph and Katherine were married.
