How it Happened: Billie Jean&Michael*22
Hey yâ??all! Thank you so much for the support so far from parts 18 to hopefully up to now. Like always, forget the presence and engulf yourself into the life of Jeanetteâ?¦.Love Aariyan. â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦... Chapter 22 A Night Not Given But Received I guess Zoey was right about my hesitations: I didnâ??t have to worry about having any attractions toward Brianâ??s friend. As they were walking toward us, my â??dateâ? wasnâ??t looking so hot. His face was covered by his hand and I could almost hear his nose breathing in something. â??What happened, Brian?â? â??Just show me to the way to the nearest restroom, please Zoey.â? She pointed the way. â??Thank you.â? Brian said as he led his friend to the bathroom. After a minute of silence and Zoey trying to uplift my poor mood, I made a sarcastic comment. â??Wow, isnâ??t it irony that this â??male model type guyâ?? isnâ??t as elegant as Michael?â? I couldnâ??t help but smirk in Michaelâ??s defense. â??Shut up, Jeanette.â? I could tell I was starting to work her nerves. Zoey tries to be patient but not for too long. We also had to wave off our waiter for another five to ten minutes. â??Sorry about that.â? Brian said once he and his friend came back after five to seven minutes later. â??No, you shouldnâ??t be the one saying sorry Bri. Iâ??m the one who has to walk around like this all night.â? Brianâ??s friend voice caught my attention. He was definitely not just a regular white American guy. Heâ??s was from some place far, far away. I say that because his uniqueness struck me in one of my lowest moods. Besides his flawless voice, his face was red around his nose. He had a thick band-aid on his nose and his nostrils. â??Can I still get my hug?â? Zoey asked the two of them. â??Un-huh.â? Brian said. They hugged her and while Brianâ??s friend was still holding onto Zoey from their hug, they looked down at me. â??This is my friendâ?¦.â? Okay, why didnâ??t we come up with some out-of-the-blue-name for me while they were gone? I didnâ??t plan on seeing Brian or his friend again. They were the most important people in my life. â??Uh, Billie.â? She said. Billie? Billie?! Seriously she did not just say â??Billieâ?. How could she?! I wouldâ??ve said â??Jenâ? and kept it at that. At least he wouldâ??ve naturally assumed my name was Jennifer. â??Billie? Hi.â? He said. He gave me a nice, generous hug. â??Iâ??m Mark Hewlett.â? When we were hugging, I saw a confused look Brian gave Zoey. All she did was zip her lips, lock the key and throw it at Brian at a weird angle and pointed at him to hush. They helped us in the booths. I didnâ??t feel too comfortable around someone I barely knew. Then to know heâ??s from some other place didnâ??t make things better. What if he was crazy? And whatâ??s up with Zoe knowing all these guys with off the wall accents? I didnâ??t look up from my menu much. If you really want to know, I believe all the different ways I can have a duck served on a plate. â??You ladies want anything much? Seems like Billie over here doesnâ??t say much.â? Mark laughed and nudged me playfully. I only smiled enough to show his appreciation of wanting me to feel like myself around him; but the fact was, I felt boxed in. Our waiter came for the third time. â??Look, all four of you are going to have to order something or leave. Iâ??m sorry but itâ??s like that.â? â??Okay, get me and my friend,â? Zoe swayed her hand over to me, â??a pink lemonade slush.â? We also didnâ??t order really anything to eat. The food was pretty tempting but I had too much to think about. I really felt like those problems I had expressing the way I felt for Michael was because there was really something there. Twenty-four hours ago was the last time I saw him. I really missed him. I woke up a few times last night, imagining he called. I wondered if Michael had the opportunity to go with Marlon and his friend, would he have taken it. And if so, why? The boys didnâ??t order much either. I wondered if they thought we were dieting and was mocking our lack of food. â??Will you three excuse me for a little? Need to take a potty trip.â? I said. Mark moved out the way immediately. Zoey wasnâ??t that far from me. Once we got in the bathroom, she tried locking the door but it wouldnâ??t budge. So she gave me a look. â??Iâ??m not having much Zoey and neither are you. We havenâ??t even caught Marlonâ??s eye.â? She was looking down at the floor when I said the thing about Marlon. â??What arenâ??t you telling me, Zoe?â? â??I did see Marlon. And Marlon saw us. And Michael was really with him and his friend. I donâ??t think Michael knows weâ??re here, but Marlon kept looking our way.â? My heart nearly fell when she said Michael was actually here. Oh no. I feel like I betrayed him. â??Michaelâ??s back was to us. So was Marlonâ??s friend, so she didnâ??t see us. She only noticed he was distracted a lot and tried blocking his view a few times.â? â??Well, how was it that I didnâ??t see them when I just went to go â??use the bathroomâ??.â? â??Luckily you went the other way than Brian and Mark went. Like I said before, only Marlon noticed something was wrong. The other two have no idea were here.â? â??Donâ??t you think heâ??ll tell Michael?â? â??At least Michael will see you with another guy, right? Thatâ??s what you wanted.â? â??This is your entire plan, Zoe.â? â??And letâ??s see if itâ??ll work.â? A young lady walked in with short hair tucked under and a red dress. She looked at us quizzical look then excused herself into a stall. For all of these games and loop holes, I couldâ??ve had Rhonda with me and talk to Michael instead of this. â??Letâ??s dance, ladies.â? Mark said. He didnâ??t even let me process what he said long enough, before he grabbed my wrist and brought us to â??Zeo Hongâ??s Sushi Shackâ??sâ? dancefloor. His rhythm wasnâ??t bad and he was on beat. I caught Marlonâ??s eye, better yet, he caught mines. He was off to the side, and I didnâ??t see a girl near him. â??She was the girl that came in the bathroom with the red dress.â? Zoey said over the loud music. We were doing some steps when we would walk on beat, clap at the same time, and swap partners. The song was â??Car Washâ? by Rose Royce. â??Marlon saw me, Zoe.â? â??And so does Michael.â? She said stopping in her steps. I turned around, and there was Michael, moving his head around when people would be in the way of his view. I stopped. Swallowed a PAINFUL swallow. I didnâ??t have long to react because Zoey told me to duck. People around us werenâ??t clear on WHO she was talking to, so half of the people on the dance floor ducked with the two of us. Not that he dance floor was even that crowded. Everyone else stood back up. I could faintly hear her say something like â??Iâ??ll see you later Brian. Tell your friend Billie enjoyed his company. She was just having cramps.â? I looked at her like she was insane; but there still wasnâ??t much time to act off of thinking things through. Only on impulse. She had us crawling on the floor, trying to get through the tangle of people dancing. My knee stuck on old soda that had hardened on the floor, and my knee was sticky. â??Eww.â? I thought. â??Come on, Billie.â? Zoe said. I guess she thought Michael wouldnâ??t be able to figure out whoâ??s â??Billieâ?. He just said it yesterday. I tried catching up but my head was down and bumped into a corner of a table. Hard. â??Uuuuh.â? I said as I let the pain sink in. I guess God knew it was time to give this scheme up because Michael approached, standing over me. Nearby people gasped. But this isnâ??t the time to be amazed about Michael Jackson. For me, it was time for me to run from how, thatâ??s until I get my mind straight and choke Zoey for this trouble. They came at him with napkins and anything that could be written on. I got up, ran to our table. Zoey was trying to get my things along with hers. â??Here, thatâ??s all of it.â? She said. And it was. It was nice of her to remember to leave a $20 dollar tip! We ran out and Michael and Marlon were after us. â??Jeanette, come here!â? â??No!â? Zoey yelled, acting silly at the WRONG time. I donâ??t know who got in their car faster, but I got in mine, locked the door, and followed Zoey. All I know was another car was following us, and I think it was just one. Marlon and Michael must be in the same car. Cars were in more places than some. I think the fastest Zoey and I was going was five miles over the allowed speed limit. We were doing ten over which was still legal, but we added on our own five illegally. After a little, I noticed we were on the outskirts of civilization. We were on a highway. Things were a blur and got very blurry when some animal ran in front of Zoeyâ??s car. She had to skid to a stop and I had to swerve to the left from hitting her. Whoever was drivingâ??Michael or Marlonâ??stopped behind me too. Their car was facing similar to the way Zoey was facing. Things were quiet until I heard a door open and close. There was a knock on the window of my passengersâ?? side. It was Michael. â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦.. No offense to describing Mark as â??whiteâ? or â??a regular white American guyâ?. I believe if you get the bigger picture, youâ??ll understand what I mean. I hoped you guys likeeed it! Voteee ;).
