Our "Thing" Part 1
Hey. I knw i shud b continuing my other story ryt nw but i jst had this one in mind. hope u all lyk it as much as I do. This goes out to evryone on mjsite, Michael Jackson and his kids. -norah Raeleen sat at her desk peering at the clock which said the time was 16h45. Why was the time going by so slowly? She was in her dull, small and untidy office at Time Publucations and was a young journalist for the magazine You. She was 21 and felt 35 because she hated her job. Everyone hated her, especially the editor Kendall who nicknamed her all kinds of names that she herself even forgot her names. All her co-workers seemed to do was gossip about each other, the boss, a woman named Keyontay and talk about a soapie called "Loving Soul" which she had never watched. The boss was a mean just like his golden boy Kendall, perverted and a plain loser. Raeleen just needed to prove it. She mainly had to prove herself. She didn't graduate at Harvard in journalism for nothing. She didn't graduate to become Kendall or the boss, Boris McReady's little toy. No. She just had to come up with a good piece of writing some day. She tapped her pen on her desk and had a bored expression on her face when someone bursted into her office. It was Kendall Bradshaw. Kendall: Time to go, Miss. What's your surname again? Rae: It's Green. Raeleen Green. Kendall: Oh that, anyways lets go. Raeleen packed her things and left the building with a glum look on her face. The wind kept blowing her dark brown hair all over the place and she just needed to get back to her apartment. She signalled for a cab but one of her co-workers beat her to it. This happened at least 4 if not 5 times. She walked to her apartment with a defeated look on her face. Why did she have the misfortune of living such an uninteresting life? She could hear loud music coming from her apartment. Rae: *getting in* Michael please turn that down. She shared her apartment with Michael Jackson who happened to be her best friend since they were 5. He was 21 and had a cool album and a generally INTERESTING life. Their apartment was big even for the two of them but extremely untidy and Raeleen hated that but loved living with her best friend. Michael: Hi. Nice to see you too. Rae: Not now, Michael. *lay down on the couch* Did you make anything for dinner? It's already six, I think. Michael: Yes. I made a phone call to American Pie and pizza is on its way. As expected, he didn't make anything. Rae: That's very Michael of you. So how was your day? Michael: Splendid. I'm making a cameo appearance on some soapie. Rae: Marvellous. Michael: I'm also going to an autograph signing and I have a photoshoot coming up for Yardley for Men and a radio interview and I have to fly to Kentucky for a movie. Rae: *springing up* A movie?! Kentucky?! Why am I only hearing about this now?! I thought we were friends. I thought we had something nice going here. I tohught- Michael: *giggling* I was only joking. I wanted to see if you were listening to me, Rae. Rae: Well, I was. *sighs* When is the delivery boy coming? Michael: Forget him, how was your day? Rae: The same for the last two months. I should just - I don't know. Michael: Quit. Rae: No. I didn't graduate for nothing. Besides, it's an honor to work at that place it's just that nobody ever thinks how nice it would be for me if they quit gossiping. It's so childish. Michael: Which is why you should quit your job. Be a singer or a dancer. Rae: Now you know I'm hopeless at those kinds of things. Michael: Point proven. Rae: Let's just change the topic, shall we? Michael: Cool, remember when you admitted you liked me at that Christmas party last year? *laughing* Girl, you're something else. Raeleen had on and off crushes on him. At that point she didn't like him in that way and was very happy about that. They actually dated when they were 16 but that ended after 24 hours. Besides, a relatiomship was giong to seriously kill what they had which was a pretty cool friendship. Rae: Again, let's change the topic. Michael: Fine. Your dad called. Rae: *eyes widened* Oh yeah? What did he say? Michael: He said hi, hope you are well, can't wait to see you this weekend. Rae: This weekend?! Michael: Yep. He said he had already told you he's coming. Didn't you get the message? Rae: I did. *slaps forehead* I just forgot. Michael this place is a pig sty and you know how my dad gets when - Michael: Chill, we'll pay a couple of school girls a handsome amount of money to clean our apartment. Rae: That's not fair. WE will do the cleaning. The doorbell rang before Michael could protest against that. He had five boxes of large pizzas with him and Raeleen turned and gave her friend a look. Michael: *shouting* It'll last us 2 days. Rae: If you say so. She gave him money and gave Michael a look when she put the pizzas down. Rae: You didn't take money out of our pig for this, did you? Because if you did then- Michael: I swear I didn't take any money out of the pig. At least not alot. Rae: Mike that's for emergencies only! Michael: I'm sorry, okay. He gave her this pleading look which nobody could say no to. That was the thing about him. He always got his way with her or anyone just for being himself which is alot better than being accepted for what you're not. Raeleen wished she was like him, most days. **************************************************************** HOPE YOU ENJOYED!!
