You've Got A Friend In Me *INTRODUCTION*
This story is set in 1975 and is about 15 year old Melanie Williams. Her mother Julie pressured her into doing well in beauty pagaents and ballet so Melanie could be famous and relieve them from their financial woes. Melanie's father passed away when she was a baby leaving her with a stepfather who really didnt care about her or her mother. Because Melanie always won beauty pagaents and did well in ballet, the girls were jealous of her and labelled her a snob meaning she didnt have friends. One day she was told her and her so called family were moving to Gary, Indiana all of them with different hopes. Her stepfather wanted to get away from them, Julie wanted the exact date and time of the local beauty pagaent and Melanie wanted someone to call a friend.... HOW DO YOU GUYS LIKE IT? -norah
