I recieved a trip to Ireland as a gift. We went in November 2006. A few days into our trip we stopped for lunch at a quaint and quiet roadside lodge. Our driver told us the food there was one of the best in Ireland. So, were eating our lunch and Mike our driver comes to the table and says, "You know, this lodge is sought after by big celebraties, in fact there is a huge artist staying here now. I asked, "Who is it?" He said he couldn't say who it was and that he and the locals were sworn to secrecy. He went on to say that he had to respect the privacy of this artist because if the public knew he was staying there he would be mobbed. I asked Mike, "If I guess who it is would you tell me? He said, "No, I can't, I'll loose my job!" I said again, "Come on Mike, who is it?" He said I can't tell you. We thought it was Tiger Woods but Mike, our driver said, "NO" but he's a huge star. Probably the biggest in the world. I turned to my daughter and said, Who do you think it is? Niether one of us figured it out. So, I suggested to my daughter that we go to lobby and wait unill everyone was finished lunch and maybe we'd be lucky enough to see this special person come through. We did, but never saw who it was. I forgot about it and that brings us to when Michael died. I was so extremely devestated I read and viewed everthing I could get my hands on to find out what may have brought him to this sudden end. One thing led to another and I discovered Michael was the artist staying at the lodge in Ireland that day. Although I never saw him in concert and never met him personally, I can say I looke out onto the same peaceful, misty Irish lake that he looked out onto everyday he stayed there. I stood in the lobby he walked through. I ate food from the same chefs and breathed the same beautiful Irish air. I know that Michael made reference to Ireland in interviews quite often after his trip. Billy Bush from Entertainment Tonight also did an interview with MJ in a recording studio in Ireland. I will always miss Michael as I know all of you do too. He was absolutely unique. One in a million!
