EMOTIONS -- part two

I waited a short time until I saw a black limo pull up. I instantly started to get nervous. Iâ??m actually going to meet the Jackson 5! The fist one that got out was Jermaine. Followed by Tito, Jackie and Marlon. The best was obviously saved for last. Michael (almost like slow motion â?? that dramatic) stood out of the car. His eyes met mine and held my eyes there for what seemed like forever but was only a couple of seconds. A buisness-looking man bounced out of the car after Michael. He was talking really fast on his phone and when he was done he looked at me up and down.

Man: Whoâ??s this?
Me: Iâ??m Sophie Harris.  I work at the grocery store and Iâ??ve been assigned to show you to your seats.
Man: Well get moving then!
Me: Oh. Yes.

I quickly turned around and started walking inside. When we got to the seats, I could hear the crowd just on the other side of the curtain. It sounded like the whole of San Francisco was there. I heard my cue to leave and raced off of the stage.

Marlon: Wait! Sophie! 
Me: Yes?
Marlon:  Wanna be my girl?
That took me by surprise.
Me: Uh. Um. Marlon right?
Marlon: Yes.
Me: Iâ??ll meet you at the back door after.
Marlon: *smiling* Alright.

I ran off the stage and couldnâ??t stop thinking. It was weird to think of myself with Marlon. Iâ??d always thought that I belonged with Michael. I lined up anyway and it was my turn too soon. I went through Jackie, Tito and Jermaine. Then I got to Marlon.

Me: Hi.
Marlon: *signing* Hello and whatâ??s your name?
Me: Marlon. Itâ??s me. Sophie?
Marlon: Oh! Hey Sophie. Still up for our date?
Me: *blushing* Yeah. I guess. Iâ??d really like to get to know you first though.
Marlon: Cool. See yaâ?? at the back door.
Me: Kay then.

I walked forward and saw Michael looking down.
Me: Hi Michael.
Michael: Oh. Hi. What do you want me to sign?
Me: My book please.
Michael: *signing* So â?¦..Youâ??re dating Marlon?
Me: Not yet. He just asked me out. 
Michael: Mm. Do you like him?
Me: I honestly donâ??t know. But I really just want to get to know him first. 
Michael: *sigh sadly* Good luck then.
Me: Thanks. That means a lot.
Michael: Bye Sophie.
Me: Bye Michael.
