Amber's Heart Part 4
Part 4, Aariyan. I couldnâ??t find my other ones at first. Thank you to Samone, Xenia, and Jada, I want to read some stories from you guys. I just woke up lol. Have you ever got that feeling about a personâ?? they seem a little obnoxious at firstâ??s glance, but when you take a second look, you completely change your mind? Well thatâ??s what exactly happened to me. He being sick didnâ??t mean a thing to me at the time. When I shook his hand, I had on a smile to be friendly, but his eyes that were a dull brown from wakening up suddenly got all bright. I gave him a nervous smile. Janet: Okay you two, let her go Mike before she starts making army mud like you! Michael: Shut up! Breaking our hand shake To me Michael: Sorry about that. Me: Itâ??s okay. Um, I have your homework for the night. Iâ??m not sure if you have all you need, so I took the text books I needed with me. Michael: Oh, so first you come over here, now you bringing my work home. Janet: I told her to, yâ??all have the same schedule. Michael: Oh, cool. Me: Yeah. Michael coming to sit next to me with his work. He was wearing a t-shirt with some gray sweat pants. He was sitting shoulder to shoulder with me on Janâ??s floor back against her bed, and his feet to his chest for now. Janet: Awe, look at the cute couple. I didnâ??t say anything just kept working, but a typical brotherâ??s instincts were to respond to what his sister said. I saw out of the corner of my eye he didnâ??t say a word to her, just gave off a mean look and fake slitting his throat. I couldnâ??t help but have an inside giggleâ?? he noticed and turned to me with a smile. Oh God, a zing went right through me. I felt like I had got shocked, because I gave off a small yelp, and my booty literally jumped off the ground. Michael: I know all the ladies have a ting in their bodies while sitting that close to me. Me: I probably sat on a nail that was in the carpet. Michael: Yeah. Janet: Iâ??m going downstairs. Me: Why? Janet: Too crowded in here. Me: I could go down there. I was getting up when they pulled me down by the arms Both: No, not to our guest. Janet: Yâ??all take the same courses. Me: You do too, just different periods. The only difference is our second connections. Janet: (she simply said good bye and left the room, leaving a crack to show) Michael: Sheâ??s crazy isnâ??t she? Smiling Me: Sheâ??s my Jan. Smiling back After a few more problems on mathâ?¦he asked me how I got that stuff Me: I had tutors in seventh grade and my cousin mainly helped me. Michael: For free? Me: For free. When we finally finished the math, he laid his head on the corner of the bed. Me: Whatâ??s wrong? You donâ??t have the poppiesâ?? again? Michael: Oh, I see you got jokes. Laughing a little Me: I really meant it. Michael: No, this is taking forever. Me: We have a work sheet in LA and thatâ??s really it. We also started reading a novel in Reading but weâ??ll back track. Michael: Thatâ??s it? Man I thought we had slavery mental work. Me: If we were to be a slave, school wouldnâ??t be allowed. We did the work sheet, and finished by 4:15. Me: I have to go to the bathroom. Michael: Okay let me show you. We turned to the left of Janetâ??s room and it was a big bathroom. We walked in hesitantly. Me: Wow, you guys have a beautiful bathroom. I canâ??t help looking around in it. Michael: This is just Janâ??s bathroom. If I showed you mine it would be rude. Giving off a small smile. I did too. I was maybe three to two inches shorter than Mike. Though he wasnâ??t a sixth-foot junior, heâ??s what I call a tooth pick on a stick. He walked out then. I closed the little area where the toilet was, and wondered why this boy isnâ??t really making a move. I donâ??t expect boys to slap my butt and I purr like a cat, but if I am somewhat attracted to a boy, of course I would like some flirting to happen. Once I used it, I washed my hands as always and started playing in the mirror. I put my hair down, playing in the tangled curls. I was silently jumping up and down; I didnâ??t have my shoes on but had to keep my socks on since Michael was still fighting the germs, while he didnâ??t have to have his own, so I was light-footed jumping up and playing. I heard someone heard snickering from the doorway and turned to see Janet. Me: Jan, you snuck up on me! Janet: What, you was hoping for, Michael? She started tickling me hoping for me to confess. Yes I did have a little faith Michael was watching me at the doorway; but no way was I going to admit that now. Me: (through giggles) No Janet, no. Janet: (stopping) are you done with your work? Me: Yeah, we finished. Janet: I only asked about you, not him. Mhmm. Me: What, I was just saying. Maybe now heâ??s in the bathroom again, I donâ??t know. Michael: (walking from Janâ??s room) Hey I heard that. Me: Sorry. Michael: Mother will be here in about thirty minutes. I called her to bring KFC. Janet: Wanna stay for dinner Amber? Me: Crazy thing weâ??re speaking of food in a restroom, but sure Iâ??ll love to. Janet: Cool. Ooh the commercials are off Iâ??m going back down there. Both: Okay. We watched Jan go back the stairs then I saw I smile creep up on Michaelâ??s face. Me: What? Michael: Itâ??s cute when you looked scared. Me: (crossing my hands over my chest looking up at him) I am not afraid. Michael: (he backed me up to the doorway, reaching his arm above my head, leaning on me.) Oh yeah? Me: Yeah. Without touching me I lifted my head to his eyes. I swallowed nervously and he just walked away with a smirk. I went to Janetâ??s room and gathered up my things. I was standing with some of my stuff in my arms when I stiffened up and dropped my thingsâ??my books and all. Me: (crying out in pain) Michael: (rushing up) are you alright? Me: Yeah, where did you come from? Michael: Nowhere. We put my things in my bag. Me: Thank you Michael. Michael: You know calling me Mike will do too? Me: Okay. I sat my bag on Janâ??s bed and went down to her, she was sitting on the couch watching TV. Me: So what are you watching? Janet: The Flintstones. We watched it for some time before Mrs. Jackson got home. Mrs. Jackson: Michael, Janet I have the food. Janet who is your friend? I quickly got up to shake her hand. Jan joined me. Me: Hi, Iâ??m Amber Logan. Mrs. Jackson: Hi, Iâ??m Michaelâ??s and Janetâ??s mother. Me: Nice to meet you. Mrs. Jackson: By the way call me Katherine, Katie, something other than Mrs. Jackson, I feel old when you say that. Me: Oh, okay. Katherine: Yâ??all go wash your hands okay? Both: Okay. Katherine: Michael, wash your hands so we can eat. Michael: (calling from up the stairs) Kay Mother. Jan and I went to the one downstairs. Once we got in there I asked if Katie even had enough for me, Jan said to stop worrying. Even if she didnâ??t I could be squeezed in. I walked out with a kind of giggle in me, I was kind of nervous to sit at the same table with Michael, eat in front of Michael, digest in front of Michael, and even burp. Heâ??s really cute. If I was looking at a photo of a class, I could point him out and smile. Katie: Sit anywhere it doesnâ??t matter. The table had chairs for six, I sat to the right of Jan, Michael sat across from me and Katie sat next to Jan. Katie starts saying the grace. Iâ??m very ticklish, so when she first started off, I felt something on my toe. I opened one eye and see Mike eyes are closed and his head is still bowed with a real cute smile. Mama always told us not to play with the Lord, so I concentrated on what Katie was saying when someone propped their legs on my knees. Since that person was taller than me, its feet stuck out all the way to my tummy. I looked again and saw Michael silently smiling over at me. I couldnâ??t help but smile back. Katie: Okay, dig in. We were eating through conversation. I have to say Encinoâ??s mashed potatoes are incredible! Katie: So did you meet a boyfriend-to-be? Me: (embarrassed, I didnâ??t want to lie) Uhâ?¦ Janet: Of course, Mother, Michael! Michael: Jan! He kicked her under the table. Janet: Ouch, well? Katie: (while laughing) Michael donâ??t kick you sister. Michael: Yes Mother. I was glad when Katie flipped it on Michael. Katie: So Michael? Michael: Yes Mother? Katie: What have you been up to today? Michael: I woke up shortly after Jan left; I watched TV and ate the left over spaghetti; I only went to the bathroom once today. Janet: Yeah to go make dessert. Katie: Janet shush. Janet: Well itâ??s not fair I went through it way worse. From last Friday â??till now heâ??s all well again. Michael: And you would wish bad luck on me? Janet: Well, no. Michael: Then I come home to see Jan with a friend bringing me my work. Katie: How sweet of you Amber. Me: (Why did he have to say that? I couldnâ??t help blushing.) Janet discovered my schedule is Michaelâ??s alsoâ?? so she asked me to get his work and bring it over. She and Pam greeted me right when I got on the bus. Katie: You should be thankful Michael; and thatâ??s me Janet. Me: Youâ??re welcome. Michael was looking at me with a smirk and I rolled my eyes subtly. Me: Thank you so much Katie. Iâ??ll clear the table. Michael: Iâ??ll help. Katie went to her room and Jan went to help her with something. So it was just me and Michael, alone. I went on to picking the things up and either throwing them away or keeping them in the containers. I saw him just staring at me, and then I remembered my hair was still down and dragged on my face. I put what was in my hands and started putting it back in a ponytail. Michael: No donâ??t put it away; I like your hair down. Me: (squinty eyes) Why? Michael: I just like it down. Turning away back to what he was doing. After we were done, I noticed it was six. Me: Sorry Michael but I have to go. I feel a little embarrassed but its dinner time at my house too. Michael: You should you greedy pig. Laughing Me: (slinging a wet rag at him) Michael: Hey! Then he did the unthinkable, he picked me up on the sink. My butt crack was right on the line that separates the two sink bowls from each other. And sort of pressed against my thighs, holding them and he looked me in my eyes biting his lip. Michael: Hopefully I can get you plumped enough for Christmas. I was paralyzed, he did do anything either, just stared at me with his hands on my thighs. I simply hopped from the sink, causing him to back up a little. I gave him a smirk and walked away. I went up the stairs to Jan and Katie. Me: Bye you guys. I feel guilty but dinner time is at my house too and Iâ??m done with my homework. Plus I donâ??t want to be a bother to you two any longer than needed. Katie: Come back whenever. Me: Okay. We hugged and Janet led me to her room though I already had my stuff. Janet: Michael may like you. Me: Oh not that too. Janet: Well, he did break up with his last girlfriend. Me: Why? Janet: Such a snob and she kept cheating on him. He can be a pushover at times when it comes to relationships, especially in relationships. Me: Oh. Janet: Well I wonâ??t call you tonight. I know youâ??re still unpacking and all. Me: Okay. Janet: See you tomorrow? Me: Yep. I went down the steps, noticing Michael wasnâ??t in the kitchen or on the couch. So I thought nothing else of it. I really wanted to tell him bye but I just locked the door and headed on out. Thatâ??s when I saw him on the porch. Me: Gosh, Michael you really need to stop doing that. Michael: I wanted to walk you home. A shy smile Me: Fine. Giving a shy small and rolling my eyes We walked in silence a little. I noticed I was a midget compared to him. I caught little glances and saw he was just looking straight forward. Guess he is a little shy after all. So I told him what I thought. Me: You know Michael, Iâ??m very short compared to you. Michael: Shush. He bumped me with his hip, making me topple over and fall in the neighborâ??s lawn. Michael: Sorry. Me: (getting up with a frown while heâ??s trying to help me) Michael: Really I am. Then he out his arm around my shoulder. When we got to my door, I gave him a hug. Me: Thank you for walking me home. Michael: And thank you for bringing me my work. Me: See you tomorrow? Michael: On the bus. He kissed me on the cheek and ran awayâ?? I just stood there with my mouth open, wanting more (not in that way I just thought lol). Tonight and tomorrow was going to be something new. Then I walked in my house for another dinner. Mom: So how was it? Me: Nice. Sandy: Her friend Janet has a brother. Beanie: Ooh. Me: Shut up Beanie. Mom: Who old is this boy? Me: Around my age, may be a few months older. Jan is either one or two but she was able to skip. Mom: Is he cute? Me: (blushing) I donâ??t know. Beanie: Take that as a yeah. Me: Shut up Beanie. Sandy: (giggling) I did the dishes after dinner with Sandyâ??s help. I already knew what she had in mind. Me: What? Sandy: Do you like him? Me: Sand, he had the poopies and I just met him today. Sandy: So, do you like him? Me: I donâ??t know. Sandy: Do you? Me: God Cassandra I donâ??t know! Sandy: Youâ??re so in denial. Me: Why do you say that? Sandy: Just like your mom, you say my whole name when youâ??re upset and youâ??re upset now because youâ??re in denial. Me: Whatever Sandy. Sandy: I worry because I love you, you know? Me: Yeah, I do. We watched tapes because TV wasnâ??t available yet or the phone now that I think about it. I went to take a shower and when in a long deep sleep, my last thoughts were on Michael. Hoped you guys enjoyed!
