December 16th 1978

Michael and I have been together for 6 months and have a strong relationship. Joe is more comfortable with me now and because of me, Joe doesn't hit Michael anymore. I see Michael almost every day after work (I work at a teen clothes store)and I live between my house and his. La Toya still doesn't like me and Michael just thinks she's not used to new people in the family. I think it's more than that, so today I have decided to talk to her.

Me: Hi La Toya
LT: What do you want?!
Me: Um...We need to talk
LT: Fine!
She sat down as I got prepared.
LT: Well I haven't got all day
Me: La Toya. Please tell me the truth, why don't you like me?
She thought about it for ages.
LT: (quietly)I'm sorry
Me: (hugging her)I would just like to know why.
LT: I guess I thought that you were trying to make money off of us. All of the other girls only want money.
Me: I would never do that to you.
LT: I know.
Me: Friends?
LT: Friends.

After my talk with La Toya, I felt really happy. It felt as though weights had been lifted off my shoulders.

On December 4th, Michael had started recording songs for his new album, Off the Wall. Sometimes I would go down to the studios and watch the recordings. This also meant that he would be away all day. It sucked him not being here, especially because I had a really bad stomach flu. I would throw up practically every day. I was also gaining weight. Fast. On December 17th, Michael came with me to the doctor's.

MJ: So doctor, is it the stomach flu?
Doc: Not exactly. Congratulations. Samantha's pregnant.
Me and MJ: What?!
