Please vote and enjoy -Kayla MJ dropped me off outside of my house. I don't know why but as soon as we pulled into my already driveway, my eyes started flooding. It was kind of annoying how depressed I was since dumping Ray for the final time, which was 10 minutes ago. MJ, however, didn't seem to mind. Although, I could tell he thought I was a fool for crying over Ray, he still comforted me by taking me into his arms. MJ: Don't worry. He was a jerk, remember? I finally stopped crying realizing he was right. Ray was a jerk. So why am I crying? I guess MJ was wondering the same thing. I saw it on his face. But he shook it off and unlocked my door. MJ: Call me if you need anything, ok? I nodded and stepped out, quickly remembering something. Before I closed the door I turned around to see MJ staring right back at me. MJ: What's wrong? I smiled at his cuteness before replying. Me: I need something. I was clutching on the door. He caught on that I was joking and played along. MJ: What? I hopped back in his truck and rubbed my hand softly on his cheekbone. Me: I need you. A smile formed along his lips as he leaned in closer. I jumped as he was jerked back by his seatbelt, causing his hand to hit the steering wheel, sounding off the horn. We both broke out in laughter at his clumsiness. Me: Way to ruin the moment, MJ. I started laughing. He looked up at me, still laughing. His expression changed when he looked out of my window. I followed his gaze to see my dad walking down the steps of my house. I quickly stepped back out of MJ's truck, without saying goodbye, and approached my father. MJ apparently didn't see that as his excuse to leave. Instead, he got out of his truck and followed me. My dad eyed MJ with such disgust it was horrifying. Me: Dad, this is MJ. I tried to break the tension. My dad gave him a short smile before reaching out his hand. Dad: We've already met. I let out a sigh of relief. At least it won't be as awkward. MJ: Good afternoon Mr. Williams. MJ shook my dad's hand calmly. We all just stood there quietly after that. I take back my previous statement. It was still awkward. Finally, I offered to let MJ come inside since my dad decided to. Luckily, he refused saying he had to get home for dinner. I let out another sigh as I followed my dad inside the house. Once the door was closed, and MJ was pulling out my driveway, the conversation started. Dad: Don't talk to him anymore. Me: Dad, he's not a bad person. I was trying to defend my friend. My dad rolled his eyes at my excuse. Dad: He almost got you put in jail, and pregnant. I could tell he was getting angrier because his voice was getting louder. Me: All of those incidents were because of a different person. I was the one that got MJ involved in those things, he was trying to help me. My voice was getting louder too. Luckily, nobody was home except Xavier. I don't want them to have to hear this. Dad: Help you do what? Turn you into some skank? I don't want you near him and that's final. He pointed his finger in my face. I shook my head no. Dad: Did you just tell me no? Me: My life is finally getting back on track because of MJ, and you're not going to take him away from me. I stared in his eyes. He could tell I was being serious, so he lowered his head. His focus was directed to the floor as I let out another sigh. I think I won. He backed up, his eyes still on the floor, and sat down on one of the bar stools in the kitchen. I felt the urge to run up to my room in victory, but instead I joined him. Dad: That is the exact same thing I said to my father about your mom. He raised his eyebrows, even though his focus was still remained on the floor. Xavier looked up at us after turning off the TV. He walked over to us, settling himself on the other side of our dad. Me: What do you mean? Dad: My dad didn't want me dating her because he thought she was no good. Xavier and I nodded as a way of saying that was understood so far. So he continued. Dad: He told me to break up with her. But I couldn't. I loved her. As he finished the last part of the story. I've seen a tear rolled down his cheek. Xavier and I pulled him into a hug as the tears started coming down faster. I felt my eyes tear up as well. But they weren't tears of sorrow. They were tears of compassion. I tried my best not to let them out, but it was no use. The story was so heartfelt. Dad: I'm sorry, baby girl. I held him closer. Me: There's nothing wrong with being a good dad. We all finally let go of our family moment. I looked at Xavier to see that he let a few tears slop too. But I won't hold that against him. Me: Dad, I promise if there was anything wrong with MJ, he would be out of my life by now. I tried to bring MJ back into the conversation. I wanted to have my dad's approval before starting anything with MJ. Yes, I think I'm finally ready to officially make MJ my man. Dad: I just didn't want you getting hurt anymore. I know that this last week has been hard on you. And I just want the best for my kids. Me: Yes, I know. But I'm a big girl now. Almost 18. Life is hard, full of dangerous surprises. But there are also good surprises. I think MJ is going to turn out to be one of the good surprises. I crossed my fingers and hoped my dad give MJ a chance. My dad sighed. Dad: But what if he isn't? Me: I guess we'll just have to find out. My dad sighed once again. Dad: Michael is a good kid. He has my approval. I, however, was jumping up and down in excitement. I thanked my dad with a kiss on the cheek as I rushed upstairs to call Gia. I have to tell her about this. Gia: Really, you finally dumped Ray? Me: Yes. Gia: Does MJ know you're finally available? Me: Yeah, but why would he care? Gia: Cierra, because he loves you. Me: Say what? Gia: Didn't I tell you he was in my science class? Me: No. Gia: Well, he talks to me non-stop in there about you. I felt a smile form on my lips, even though I tried to hide it. I don't know why. No one was around. Gia: Hello? You still there? Me: Oh, yeah. Does he really talk about me? Gia: All the time. Well, I have to go soon. Roc Royal is picking me up. Me: Always leaving me behind. Where are you two lovebirds going? Gia: He said it was a surprise, but he asked me to dress nicely. Hey!! Do you wanna come? You could bring MJ. Me: Naw, it sounds like he wants it to just be the two of you. Tell me how it went later. Gia: Ok, bye. Me: Bye. I hung up the phone, and let out a sigh. I kept thinking about what Gia had told me. " He talks to me non-stop in there about you ". I felt myself smile again. But this time I didn't try to hide it. TBC...
