Knives And Pens: Part 4
Long over due part.-Fluffykins _______________________________ Walking in the court yard, birds flying over head, I was taken back to the beauty there is in this open field. So much beautiful than there ever was in my country; all you would see is dullness, sadness and illness going around. My father, who I try to adore, is a powerful king but an awful ruler. Hate by all his subjects and even his wives-my mother being the first to hate him. Growing up, I was told by mother plenty of times, I was the only pure thing to ever come out of her marriage to my father. She also stated she wished she could have loved me more, like all others did, but couldn't because I was not the son they thought I was to be. Sons are the most beloved children there are here, girls are to be sent off to marry rich kings-to which how my marriage to King Austin was arranged-so they can keep their family the rulers of the kingdom. Also so they can have an ailed force if needed in battle. I plucked a nicely place, and tempting rose from one of the large bushes surrounded the outside of the castle. I was escaping the queenly lessons my King had required for me. Sir Edwin-the same man who taught me since the age of three of my princess duties- now teaching me what I need to know about being a Queen and what not to do as Queen. I spent most of my life getting told how to do things, and I have had enough of it! If I am to become Queen, I am to become Queen on my own will with the knowledge I already know. And what I have learned while looking at my mother through the years. I do not need anyone to tell me how to run a country while my king is away to battle or what to do in case of a rebellion, I know what to do to fight them back. I don't need teachings, I don't need Sir Edwin, I just need myself and my abilities to rely on. Escaping into the court yard was the best idea I ever had. Princesses need breaks too. I twirled the rose in between my fingers-not minding the thorns-and continued walking. I admired the view of King Austin's kingdom. Such a lovely place. Such a nice and lovely day, also, nothing could ruin this. Michael: Princess Estella! I have spoken far too soon I believe. Me: *turns around to him* Sir Michael. Michael: Princess, you should be in the ballroom with Sir Edwin. King Austin strictly told me to make sure you got your lessons in. Me: *plays with the rose as I walk away, smiling* I know my King did. Michael: Than why are you going against his orders? Me: Because, Michael, ever since I was three-years-old I was taught lessons on how to be a proper princess and now years later...I am to be taught by the same man to teach me things I ALREADY know about being a queen. Michael: How do you know already? Me: Years from watching what a great queen my mother was. Michael: Being a queen has changed- Me: No, no it has not. People want to believe that...only because I am so young and they believe I need teachings. I don't. If I am to be queen, I am to be queen by what I know already. Michael: The king will not like this. Me: What the king does not know, will not hurt the king. Michael was silent for a bit until his lips curved a small, yet sly smile. Michael: You, as queen Estella, will be the most interesting of all. Me: How so? Michael: This castle has been dull for a while now, King Austin isn't the man he once was, but with you around I believe this will be a very lively place. Me: *smiles* Well, thank you, Sir Michael. Now have this rose on a count *places the rose in his hair* He laughed and I smiled at him, bowing before continuing my stroll around the court yard. I looked over my shoulder, making sure Michael didn't notice me, smiling as I saw him remove my rose from his hair and place it into the pocket of the shirt he wore. He smiled at it before returning to the castle, probably to tell Sir Edwin I am finish with my lessons for today. ________________________________________________ Not the best, but it's the best I can do for now.
