Tough Love Part 44
Hey everyone. Just to let you know, I typed this on â??FRIDAY THE 13THâ? (January) but sadly I wasnâ??t able to post because of complications. Either way, yâ??all were still in my heart! This goes out to all of yâ??all. ENJOY Yourselves! ЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊ Chapter 44 You Canâ??t Take My Blues Away. No Matter What You Say, What You Saaaay..... I think I was more tired than I thought. The reason I say that is because for once in so long, I had this serene feeling as I was swayed to sleep by the limo and Iâ??m sure by Michaelâ??s steady, slow breathing. While his heart seemed to be at the appropriate speed, mine was beating uncontrollably! Even if he did notice, he acted like nothing was wrong, and as I was thinking those thoughts, he asked me why I was burning up and held me closer. I knew I was a little hot because he isâ?¦. Yâ??know how a kid gradually gets up from a nap after a car stops moving? Well, that was me. I was suddenly up, awoken, and a little unsure. â??Weâ??re here,â? Michael says as I am getting up. I decided it was only right if I got up from him, so I did. â??Which beach is this?â? I asked. The window comes down before he answers. â??Michael, weâ??re here,â? Bill says. I went on to open the door. â??No oneâ??s out here Bill?â? â??No,â? he says. â??Think you can get away from it.â? â??Okay,â? I could tell Michael wanted to say more. So before he closes the door, he says, â??Hey, donâ??t tell my family about this, alright?â? â??Gotâ??cha, Mike,â? then Michael ducks his head away from the inside of the limo. He looks at me and just gains my hand with his. â??So, where ya wanna go?â? â??To the deck,â? I pointed to the deck nearby. â??I just wanna talk.â? I said in a whispery tone. â??Dangle your legs with me,â? he says jokingly. I could tell by his half-smile. I tried my best to return the smile, but it was weak. I knew that as soon as we got to the deck, I would want to take off my shoes, so I did. Michael followed. His hand was in mine. As I sat there, trying to get my thoughts together, he would do little things, teasing me. Once, he even tickled my neck. Thatâ??s when I really laughed and playfully pushed him. â??So whatâ??s up?â? he asked me by clamping his arm around my shoulders, then my waist. â??Nothingâ?¦Donovan is justâ?¦a little pissed may I say?â? â??How he took it?â? â??Not good. He had a mouth on him; and you know how boys are in the locker room.â? â??He told?â? â??Yeah! And you would think HE was supposed to take me tomorrow. But he only inferred that he might be telling what goes on between us.â? There was a halt stop. â??Like what?â? I looked at him. â??A complicated spark I guess. But you see were not together. Plus I donâ??t want to talk about that.â? â??Well, what else? I can tell you got a lot on you right now.â? I breathed in deeply, then I blurted something else out: â??Dad may be cracking down on our relationship, Michael. Sometimes I think he thinks weâ??re romantically involved. I almost canâ??t see HOW he sees it. Itâ??s not like youâ??ve ever kissed meâ?¦.â? I started tearing up because I was of course, embarrassed. Iâ??m just trying to feel as comfortable around him as I could. He pulls me into him, â??Sssh,â? he mumbles. â??No, Michael,â? I moved from him and looked in his eyes. â??Donâ??t comfort me. Then, thereâ??s someone else we KNOW. She doesnâ??t like me.â? I barely took a breath when I blurted out another secret: â??And I donâ??t why your sister is like that.â? Michael looks at me with obvious confused eyes. He looks down quickly like heâ??s trying to figure out which sister. His look was hurting me to watch, so I looked away. â??LaToya?â? he whispers. Too quickly, I looked at him, so he knew I was guilty. â??Yeah,â? I whispered with nods. â??Itâ??s herâ?¦.â? He thinks, then he shrugs and puts his arms around my shoulders. â??You see Iâ??m with you, though.â? â??Youâ??re nonchalant about it.â? I said. â??Because I donâ??t give a ratâ??s ass. LaToya doesnâ??t run my life OR yours.â? With an afterthought, he says, â??Youâ??re mine.â? I laughedâ??really giggledâ??because Michael just cussed. I mean, Michael just CUSSED! â??What?â? he asked. â??Listen to what you JUST said. A ratâ??s ass, Michael? Thatâ??s a good one.â? I put my right hand up to offer him a five, he shook his head with a smile and didnâ??t take it. I looked down in a playful â??hurtâ? way. When I looked up, he looks at me, and after a minute, he leans over. And as I kept looking, he looked as if he was aiming for myâ?¦lips? His face is calmâ?¦with a joyful smile you rarely see. He keeps leaning over and it feels like a bunch of lead is in my throat as I felt my body came alive. Like it was nothing, his lips just barely pecks mine. It was more of aâ?¦brush. To the lips. Instead. My eyes werenâ??t closed because I didnâ??t wanna miss anything, so as he moves away from me with the kiss, he still had that â??cherished smileâ?? My breath was absolutely taken away. â??What was that for?â? I asked after a moment of soaking it in. He shrugs. â??Just a friendly kiss. Diana calls it â??a friendly brushâ?? or something like that. I canâ??t remember exactly.â? â??But, what was THAT for?â? I asked. He shrugs again. â??Donâ??t like your friend doing that for you?â? I WOULD say, â??No, Iâ??m more than happy,â? but I only did what would be cute, and looked down and shrugged. â??And for once, youâ??re to the RIGHT of me,â? he teased. I wanted to get him back. I knew I did. I didnâ??t want the fun to end. So I swung onto his lap again and pushed him DOWN. On his back and on the back of his head. â??So, what this for?â? he asked with a smirk. I bit my lip and knew I wanted to test the waters and just brush my lips against his again but I wouldnâ??t dare. He decides to clamp his hands on my waist. At that time, I noticed that they were big and could over-power my own. Okay, call my actions vain, but the thought stayed in my mind, so I teasingly started bouncing. Then I giggled from my double-meaning of a bounce. I quickly stopped and laughed. But then I felt his arms around me. â??Naughty girl deserves to get her WHOLE body cleansed since she wants to be so nasty.â? He says. â??Whatâ??chu trying to do?!â? I screeched. â??OH, youâ??ve known me LONG enough. You know what Michael does.â? â??Which is?â? â??Throw you in the water!â? â??Please! Donâ??t!â? â??No!â? he says with a laugh. As we approached the water, I say, â??But you CANâ??T throw me in the water. My dad will be wondering why Iâ??m wet.â? He thinks for a second, so he pauses and doesnâ??t throw me in. â??We can just tell him we were at my house. Told Bray not tell to nobody.â? Then I couldnâ??t stop him as he picks me up and THROWS me down towards it. â??Wait, Michael!â? I just thought about it. My HAIR! Because of that, I managed to land with my head up as much as possible. â??Damnit, boy!â? I said, suddenly frustrated. I think he was about to jump in to until he noticed. His smile swiped away immediately. So he walks to me and picks me up by the waist. As he walks backwards, I wrapped my legs around his waist. As we land of dry land againâ??really just sandâ??he lays on his back again, so I sit how I just was, but not out of vain this time. â??Sorry,â? he whispers. I looked up and saw the gradual darkness. I KNEW I was in trouble. Even with that in the front of my mind, I leaned to his forehead and pecked it. â??Itâ??s okay.â? I said. Then I got up and lend my right hand to him. He takes it and we run to get our shoes. He leads me as we ran faster to the parked limo that was interfering with traffic. He opens the door, lets me in firstâ??he was being the gentleman even as we were rushingâ??and gets in himself. Impatiently he knocks on the window. As Bill is letting it down, he says, â??Step on it, Bill.â? I think he got the memo. I looked over at Michaelâ??s franticness and laughed despite my own nervousness. He tried not to laugh, but he cracked a smile. So we laid on our backs on the black cushion of the seats. The tips of our heads were touching. While lying like that, we kept messing with each other. How? You may ask. Hereâ??s how: since we were lying down and were facing away from each other, when the other wasnâ??t looking, we would just poke one another or do little things like kids â??Better get your shoes on.â? he tells me. He was right, so I got up and did so. Bill stops a block away from our hose. We didnâ??t want things to be so obvious. But itâ??s sorta like how could you really hide Michael Jackson when heâ??s walking with you. He gets to use Billâ??s hat, and grabs my book bag as I try to get it. â??Just carry your dress.â? He says. â??How you know I got a dress?â? I asked suspiciously. â??Because I saw you go to the trunk.â? He says bluntly. Then he rolls his eyes with a sarcastic smirk. I did the same. I wave bye to Bill through the window as Michael shields me to keep walking forward. â??Dang, I meant to ask what time it was.â? â??Donâ??t worry. Daddy is gonna tell us when we get in the door,â? I said knowingly. And I was right as we got on my porch. I was afraid to open the door, but I decided to check by chance if it was unlocked. It wasâ?¦. Dad was behind the door with arms folded. He still had his uniform on with folded arms and yes, a tirade expression. Immediately, he throws his arms up as I hear Michael close the door. â??Where the HELL have you two BEEN?!â? He yells. â??Clarenceâ??â? â??Shut your ASS up, NOW!â? he says. Then he points at me. â??Where you been?â? I was speechless as I wasnâ??t sure to lie or not. Just like how you see in the movies, words SEEMED like they wanted to come out, but they werenâ??t. So all you hear is me trying to start off a sentence. â??Over to my parents house,â? Michael interjects. Clarence, should I say, moves his eyes to him. â??What?â? I could tell he was a little calmer. â??Clarence, we were at my house so she could know what to expect for tomorrow. And you see sheâ??s soaked because weâ??plus my sistersâ?¦and Randyâ??were playing in the pool.â? â??Lyric, I didnâ??t pay for you to get your damn hair fixed JUST for you to mess it up!â? â??She didnâ??t know it was gonna happen. So she was smart enough to protect it and got out immediately. Thatâ??s when we knew it was time to go,â? his tone sounds a little convincing. I guess HE was a little pissed because Dad cussed at him. â??Michael, I ainâ??tâ?¦,â? I think he was looking for a more appropriate word to say, â??I ainâ??t freakinâ?? stupid.â? He walks up to him with his hand (the right one) pointing to him. As he gets closer, he moves me out the way with his handâ??not pushing, just making the gestureâ??and said these vindictive words through his teeth: â??Get my daughter pregnant, and itâ??s YOUR ass!â? For the first time, Michael didnâ??t back down. He clenched his jaws, squinted his eyes, then he WALKS AWAY! But he goes in the kitchen and we hear him making a phone call. Dad looks over at me for a second with his squinty eyes, then he follows. I couldnâ??t help but do the same. We see Michael on the phone. Then he walks over to my dad with it. Dad looks at him, then takes the phone. Iâ??m glad he polite enough to not snatch. Michael walks out the room, and as I see Dadâ??s face get softer, I walked out the room also and got my things. Suddenly, I felt like an exposed girl; all over again. What I shared with Michael today was priceless. I was immensely happy, but look at the cost! I think my dad wants both of us in a grave; and Michael probably thinks Iâ??m not worth it. As I was about to go in my bathroom to cry, I saw that it was taken. So I went in my room to finally start on my homework. 7:30. How odd at a time that itâ??s 7:30 on the dot? But I did choose a day to stall on homework when thereâ??s so much to do. So as I continued doing it, I finally broke downâ??hard. I was able to muffle some of it, but I needed a towel, so I just took a towel out my dirty hamper and used the side I knew I didnâ??t use. Though my heart wasnâ??t into my work, I got it done. 9:07. And I laid down and finished up some last minute crying. I dozed off around that time because I was so exhausted. Then I got a knock on my door I tried ignoring though my eyes shot open when I heard the light tap. It was Michael; I saw as I looked over my shoulder right shoulder. His eyes were a faint red. I donâ??t know who cried the most, but I knew my eyes were beyond heavy. Thatâ??s all I knew. When he saw that I saw him, I tried sitting up, but he shook his head, so I stayed put. He got on his knees and whispered, â??You might wanna come downstairs now. Your dad needs to know you have nothing to hide.â? â??But how many times can I go through this?â? I said as my voice cracked without effort. â??Lyricâ??â? â??Now, donâ??t go sugar-coating nothing, Michael. Stop lying.â? He knew what I meant. So I sat up and cried a little again. He holds me. â??Stop,â? he says. He firmly kisses my forehead and helps me up; whether I want it or not, and I donâ??t! But I follow his lead anyways. I mean, what more harm could he do to me? Heâ??s no harm to me, but my father seems to think heâ??s a harm to HIM! He takes my hand and we walk down the stairs though I stopped a few times. He encouraged me quietly each time. So I squeezed his hand as much as I could and kept going. Dad had just finished cooking. I could tell because I saw. He had just fixed a plate for each of us and sat it on our placemats. He looks at usâ??with our hands now detachedâ??with a more calm, worn-out face, and says, â??Have dinner with me, Lyric, baby.â? I really wasnâ??t in the mood for him right now. I was on a fine-line of breaking down COMPLETELY. I moved over to the table. As I was about to sit, he stopped me. â??No, Iâ??ll sit there. Youâ?¦sit in my seat. Michael?â? he was asking if Michael would sit where he usually does and he moves over there, also. After Dad joins, he starts to eat his chicken, so we follow. It was eerily quiet, and we were all smart enough to know WHY. He drops he fork and make an announcement. â??Katherine called,â? though she really didnâ??t and that was just Michael who did the calling instead, â??and she confirmed Michaelâ??s story.â? Thereâ??s a long pause as he stares forward with his hands under head. â??Sorry, you guys,â? he says quietly. â??Just tell me next time.â? He says after another pause. â??Butâ?¦,â? they look at me. â??When Iâ??m with Michael, weâ??re not doing nothingâ?¦no, I donâ??t wanna say that,â? I start to mumble. â??No, go on and say it,â? Dad says. â??When Iâ??m with Michael, heâ??s like my mentor. I know I couldnâ??t be with him. You wouldnâ??t like that,â? as soon as I said that last sentence, I regretted it. I knew he would remember it and it would be a sealed deal once it left my lips. Right then and there, it probably was in HIS mind. â??Dad, Katherine gave Michael moralsâ?¦.Joseph, too. Thereâ??s more to your daughter getting pregnant.â? I was definitely un-hungry again. â??Lyric, youâ??re smart, but youâ??re sneaky, too. Michael, I donâ??t know what goes through his mind. I just know heâ??s a thriving-young man with a package,â? Oh God! He did not just SAY that! I bet poor Michael on the other end was turning red, black, and blue at the same time! â??Of smartness!â? He says as he tries to clear the air. â??Clarenceâ?¦.â? We look at him. â??Donâ??t get me wrong, Lyric is a pretty girl, but Iâ??m not interested in her. I told her that she was a little too immature. And Iâ??ll let her have her childhood. I wonâ??t take it away from her with questions like â??Can I take you to the prom?â??. She has her friends for that. I just didnâ??t take the money because itâ??s not the Jehovahâ??s way. I couldâ??ve took it though. Bought me some freedom.â? He said. He doesnâ??t say anything else. For once, Michael had a back-bone! He wasnâ??t backing down for nothing! I didnâ??t wanna do the dishes. Donâ??t think Dad expected it either. I took a shower and I couldnâ??t go to sleep with these heavy thoughts; despite my weariness, so I found Michael down stairs with his â??bedâ? set. I sat in my dadâ??s blue recliner by him and watched TV with a blank expression also. He moves to the floor right by my feet, so I decided to sit by him on the floor. I laid my head on his right shoulder and fell asleep. ЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊЊ I keep coming for more, hunh? Vote Up! Seriously :).
