If I Can't Have You, I'm Lost (Part One)
Hi! This is Tiara L. and this goes out to Lexi who helped me come up with this idea, and this also goes out to Mary Cait, who included me in her new story, called "Big Ego." You should check it out, it's good. So...here we go! ---------------------------------------------------------------- *Billboard Charts: November 18, 1983 #1. "Billie Jean" Michael Jackson: seventeen weeks, eight days #2. "Diamonds and Pearls" Jennisa Lynn Rose: ten weeks, two days #3. "Time Will Reveal" DeBarge: nine weeks, four days As you see on this music chart, I was number two on there. I lost to Michael Jackson...like always. I was a pop sensation who was very popular during the 1980's, and I would always win over Madonna and Prince and all of them, but there was one that I could not beat: Michael Jackson. He got all of the awards, all of the attention and all of the popularity. Sure, I got the fame and fortune too, but Michael was just making my job harder and harder as it gets. He came out with a good song after another and after another, and I guess I was just jealous of all of the attention he was receiving. I bought his records and they sounded very good, and that jealousy came over me and I begged to have something even better than Michael's music. At the end of each decade, the President always announce the "Artist of the Decade," and ever since the decade started, I was determined to have the title awarded to me, so I tried my hardest to make sure my music was right. Epic Records was beating out Sunshine records, because Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones made such a good team. Me and the producer of my music, Lexa tried to defeat them, but they stepped all over us everytime. I never thought that Michael Jackson and I would ever come together, until this one day on December 3, 1983... TBC...
