I Can Treat You Better...*Part One*
Hi, guys! This is Tiara L., the author of "At Last" and I just want to share with you a little story that I also composed on paper. Wanna dedicate this to mjsite peeps and readers, Michael Jackson, those over in Japan, and the late Elizabeth Taylor. In honor of her, I will add her in a lot of my stories. Enjoy!! ---------------------------------------------------------------- ~Beverly Hills, California, July 15, 1987~ Elizabeth: You should come to the party, dear. You'll get to meet all of my dear friends, and you will really enjoy yourself. Me: Elizabeth, you know me. I don't like going to Hollywood parties. I--- Elizabeth: (cuts me off) Aw, love! You need to get out of that shell. You have to come. Everyone is very eager to meet their favorite glamour girl. Me: (sighs) Fine... but only for you, Elizabeth. Elizabeth: (smiles) That's my angel! (kisses my cheek) She could see the frown on my face. Elizabeth: Aw, come on. Show me that pretty smile. Me: Aw, do I have to? Elizabeth: (laughs lightly) Yes, you do, love. I gave a closed mouth smile. Elizabeth: No, show me some teeth. Me: (smiles with my teeth showing) Elizabeth: (laughs) Reminds me of when you were a little bud. (holds my hand) You are now a beautiful rose that had blossomed. My name is Melinda Sanders-Smith, and at that time, I had just released my third movie, "Sandra James: If you Believe In Miracles." My movies were movies that were a part of a large series. You know, like, now-a-days, you have the "High School Musical" movie series and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" movie series. My movies were like that. The first movie I released was in 1983, called "Sandra James: A Shy Girl With A Dark Side," then came in 1985, "Sandra James: Take It To The Max." I was the lead female character in those movies, and they were the first movies that made my mark as an adult woman. Before that, the public always thought of me as the cute, shy, little girl in her pig-tails and bobby socks. But in 1983, all of that changed. In that movie, I played "Sandra James," who didn't know what to call herself. That means she was struggling with her identity. I gained huge popularity since that movie was released. The press knew me as the "sexy glamour girl" That was their nickname for me. One magazine even compared me to a swimsuit model or a Playboy bunny...so that was weird, because I didn't see myself as beautiful. I saw that the media put me on the top 100 beautiful people list. I was number 17, next to Patrick Swayze and Whitney Houston. I was stunned because I never thought I was ever worthy to even hit that list at number 100. Anyway, the Elizabeth I was talking to was the iconic actress herself, Elizabeth Taylor. I knew her ever since I was a baby, since she was a really good friend to my mother, fellow actress, Jacqueline "Jackie" Sanders-Smith. They were so close, that my mother granted Elizabeth the name of "godmother" to me on her death bed, back in 1986. My mother passed from breast cancer in the Spring of 1986. I remember the exact time when she died. She held my hand and she said," Elizabeth will soon take over. She will take care of you when I'm gone. I love you, Melinda..." then immediately right after she said those words, she died. From that moment on, Elizabeth was basically my mother...well, after all, she was my godmother. Later that night, I drove to Elizabeth's beautiful mansion, just to talk to her, since she was the only person to socialize with. Elizabeth: (gasps) What are you wearing? Me: What? (looks down at my pink sweater, blue jeans, and my sneakers; i was always casual, except in movie premieres and stuff; I never cared about how I looked) Elizabeth: Melinda, this is an A-list, Hollywood party. You have to make a good impression. We're going shopping. (takes my hand) To Be Continued... Please vote! Hopefully I could get 10+ votes...
