I'll miss you 4ever!!!
I grew up on Michael and the Jackson 5 and when they first came to London I was 11 yrs old. My sister and I, and a few friends decided to bunk off school for a few days and went up to the Hotel where they were staying in the West End, only to meet a load of fans already there. My mother found out about my sister and I bunking off school, as my school clothes were so raggedy - being trampled by some of the fans when we actually saw Michael & the Jackson 5...and a beating followed, but it was worth it! Anyway, over the years we still listened to the Jackson 5, and Michael when he went solo. Michael was one of a kind, he was an innovator, creator, producer, dancer and many things more. I learned after watching the Memorial that he was the only star who was in the Guiness Book of Records who had given so much to all kinds of different charities. Michael didn't see with his eyes, he saw with his heart and accomplished everything he dreamt of doing. I felt very honoured to have being invited to watch the Memorial on tv, and I am sure that many many fans from around the world felt the same. It was a very intimate and dignified event, and was a celebration of his life and legacy. As Berry Gordy said, Michael studied the greats and became greater, he raised the bar and broke the bar. He sang with such feeling and inspiration and was the undisputed King - the world over. I am glad that I live in this era to witness the greatest entertainer of all time, who was often imitated but NEVER duplicated. RIP Michael - you've earned it and I'll miss your 4ever. xxxxxxxxxxx
